Im currently in a community college my first semester wasnt to good for me i lost focus
i took poli sci sociology history english n math

the english and math arent transferrable i dropped both with a W
also poli sci and sociology i got a F in both
history i got a C
I took both the poli sci and sociology class over got A's

im going to major in pharmacological chemistry
i will to transfer with at least a 3.5 gpa or higher
Also i will not be able to finish 3 of my lower division classes just physics wont be complete is that alright? In addition, what is tag and what are its reqs?
my top schools are UCSD UCI
do you think i will get into these schools? or have my failures in the past semester damaged my hopes?

TAG for UCSD is just IGETC + 3.0.

If you want to TAG into Pharmaceutical Sciences at UCI you need 1 year of bio, g-chem, and o-chem + 3.0 + english/math + 60 units.

You can also TAG into bio at UCI and change majors while you are there (not impacted but heavy requirements). TAG requirement is 1 year g-chem and 1 year bio with B average in g-chem.

Those W’s and F’s look bad. But you say are going to have a 3.5 gpa or higher? Does that meaning you are acing all your science classes?

don’t even think about TAG, a 3.5 gpa will get you in almost guaranteed

^ This is ridiculous, why risk it when you can be 100% sure regarding your admission? People get denied with a 3.5+ all the time.

I second iTransfer’s advice. Definitely do TAG. It’s just a matter of working a little harder and filing more papers.

^you’re actually right but… little harder won’t be the case since you ONLY need 3.0 and filing papers won’t be necessary since you can apply online, tada~

I did not mean that literally. Obviously the whole thing is done online.

That will get you into UCSD itself, but does not guarantee your major of choice. I’m not sure how impacted pharm. chem. is, but a 3.5 is a good goal.
