@adumbdang oh… im actually a freshman. should i just stop hoping for something to happen? the only reason I want to go to sd is cause my best friend goes there. I’m not the biggest fan of the rigorous and nerdy curriculum though.

@phatfat Well they did not tell me how they calculated it, I just asked them what my GPA was. But I am guessing they calculate your GPA based on the credits they accepted, so they take all the credits that they accept and your GPA for those credits and average them. I am not 100% for sure on that, just a guess. Dang dood you have a 3.9 and have not heard? yeah what they say about GPA being deciding factor…I highly doubt it. Are you an international student or out of state student? it looks like they put A LOT of emphasis on whether you are instate, out of state, or international. Based on stats I have seen instate people having it an easier time and getting into the school with much lower GPA than out of state applicants. It is to be expected since it IS a state school.
@adumbdang yeahhhh… i’m an international student. If the situation is like what you said, then it’s really not fair, and maybe not worth I pay 7 times more tuition for it then. Even it has been my dream school for a long long time.
Maybe I need to work harder in some places
@phatfat Lol yeah it really isn’t fair, but instate students would make an argument saying it is not fair for them to compete with out of state students since they pay California tax…Lol with a 3.9 you wouldn’t have too work much harder, I think the only thing weighing you down is that you do not live in California prior to applying.

@BumblebeeCW The chances of getting on campus housing are very slim, so look for apartments off campus.

Okay to you people still waiting…I received an email from UCSD today stating they are still determining the capacity for next year…they said it may take up to mid July for them to give us their decision…

@thisismyname1 Yep I am a transfer. Oh should have specified, I emailed them asking if they already finalized their wait-list last week.

@thisismyname1 Yep most likely in general, but on my portal it still says I should hear back by July 1…they have not removed the date for me on my portal, but apparently they removed it for several students…I don’t want to sound negative or for freshman to lose hope, but so far all I am hearing is transfers getting in, I hope you SIR to another school in the mean time!
This is becoming more confusion. Anyway do not lose hope until the end. I believe we will make it.
