How does UCSD let us know when they have received our IGETC? I have just ordered mine and I’m worrying that they don’t receive it.

To add to the question above, how do we send it in the first place? Do we request or CC to send it or do we have to send it ourselves?

For questions regarding IGETC…
You must first indicate that you have/will complete IGETC before you transfer on your application. Then once they asked you to send in your transcript (assuming you get in), you notify your CC to include the IGETC certificate thingy along with your transcripts before they mail it out. When requesting for your transcripts there’s usually a form you have to fill out and there’s gonna be section where they asked if you want to send the IGETC certificate. That is how it was for my school. Hope this helped. oh btw i applied for fall but got into winter just to let you guys know.

Has the transfer application process already started for the UCs? I thought it was not until later after USC released their transfer application.

so there has been something that has been bugging me for a while, if we signed the TAG, are we truly ‘guaranteed’ or does it just give us more priority. i am very skeptical about it since our state is in the crisis it is in.

what majors you guys applying to? bio here

I’m a history major.

History major here also.

art major here,
do i need do send my art portfolio for the winter
and when ?

no idea, unless they have specific requirements for that major i dont see why you would need to submit your portfolio, given that you completed IGETC and TAG. I would contact them though, better safe than sorry…

I’m double majoring in psychology and film(aka visual arts; media). luckily I saved a half-year of college because I had a crap-top of AP units when I graduated high school(08)

hey where are you guys gonna stay? im so lost about housing, transfer dorms are packed and waitlisted. sighh i wanted to be on campus :/

Sam - I’d recommend getting an apartment in the general area. If you don’t mind commuting, you should try to get an apartment a little ways out of the La Jolla area. The rents are sky high here, and the apartments are old and definitely not worth the high rent.

thanks i’ll look into that junebug. Are you familiar with the area? if so can you recommend any particular areas. Anyone else know where they are gonna stay? Maybe we can pair up or something, im all for it…

Yeah, like I’m only gonna have a month or so to find a roommate/room/move-in once I get back from London. =/

If you don’t mind a 15 minute commute, I would recommend the Mission Valley area. As far as price and quality is concerned, the area is, in my opinion, the best value. It is also an ideal location in San Diego. It is right off of 3 major freeways, and is so centrally located it only takes about 10-15 minutes to get to anywhere of interest in San Diego.

I don’t know where I would live either if admitted. I am getting nervous since… the CC I attend…was booked since aug 25th regarding counselors…All I needed to do was get it signed…I’ve had to wait weeks since every time I call…it’s booked…and you can only schedule on Monday. I don’t get it, the earliest they had was this Wed, wth?!!

^^ for IGETC certification? What do you mean sign it? I thought the school mailed it out… hmmm

Is this month over yet?!?

^^seriously. so everyone is doing TAG since thats all winter is allowing right? so what do you guys think the odds are of us getting in since we are all ‘guaranteed’. im highly skeptical they can let everyone in… im scared quite frankly, i have no backup i have like a 3.2-3 in a non impacted major, what do you think?
