I didn’t think merit was tied to honors, but I could very well be wrong.
I’ve also read that they are really broke…more broke than than the typical state flagship, so I’m concerned. We can’t afford it without the merit that was estimated in their Net Price Calculator.
Merit guidelines have been updated on the “Financing your Degree” page. Speaks to the UDEL re-calculated GPA which I hope works in my D’s favor considering her high school grading scale is a 7 point scale. Wish they would be more transparent in that regard.
I noticed that but they said they aren’t using test scores yesterday. I think the chart under merit is the new model. It was the director of admissions giving the presentation- hopefully I heard wrong. Unfortunately it hurts those of us with higher than average test scores. They did say honors kids would definitely get scholarships so maybe they get a boost. I don’t know anything else.
@CSJA2025 am sure you are right about the going to the un-transparent recalculated GPA. However I thought it was interesting that they still had the NPC with test scores on the site.
Yes, the Scholars & Fellows programs would still be available if you get into Honors College. My D has already been admitted to Honors, and she still has the option to apply to one of these programs. Good luck!
My son was accepted to the HC last Friday. When he was originally accepted to UD he was awarded a scholarship of 10k per year. Does acceptance to HC mean he will receive additional funds?
For those that have been accepted to honors is the letter update part of your acceptance letter or a separate letter? I noticed today that my Ds acceptance letter was updated with Friday’s date. Nothing appears changed on the letter.
@CSJA2025 That is exactly what happened to my son the day before he was accepted to the HC. The letter he received was separate from the initial acceptance letter. Good luck!
In non-Covid times they are house on central campus in Redding. Those who were on campus last fall were in Thomas McKean on North Campus. I would assuming for incoming freshman, they will be in Redding in the fall.
