UDEL Honors Decisions 2025

D still waiting.

Informed delivery shows a letter coming today from UDel. Could be mines rejection from honors college. No change on her portal either

Nothing from UD in our informed delivery today. We’re in central pa, so it may take another day for us.

No change on my D’s portal either.

Chiming in here from a parent who lives (rhetorically speaking and physically) ON campus… YES !!! We live about 5 minutes from campus and my son used to work at the Dominos pizza ON campus. My son, a music performance major, has taken lessons ON campus for years. I run in the park just below campus and come ON campus to get a drink from the Dominos or the student union. Just to give you some context as to my qualifications for being able to chime in

Yes, it IS known as a party school and YES, my son used to come home from work complaining about all the drunk college kids passing through for pizza… not understanding how they could do that, sometimes on weekdays. The Dominoes on campus he worked at stayed open til 3:00a.m. ! He’s very low key and has been kept out of the mix, so to speak… so was clueless about that sort of thing happening and wanted no part of it. . And yes, I ran by many a rowdy college frat party house… in broad day light, mind you. So there is that.

BUT, my son who is an avid gamer has friends on campus and has gone on campus JUST to play video games… good clean fun !! He found his Geek tribe on campus while he was in high school, though he’s not attending school there (too close to home… too much a part of campus for years his instructor is already the instructor there etc etc ) I was comfortable enough allowing him to go on campus to join his friends there and have hosted a game night or two at my house for his UD peeps. These kids were all top notch, high performing students who were VERY serious about their academics, but also liked to have fun with their gaming. Worked hard and played hard.

Your daughter/son will definitely be able to find his/her “tribe” so to speak… WELL away from the “party stuff”. PLENTY of good, clean fun to go along with the great academics /programs UD has to offer. And OMG… YES. That UDairy Creamery is EPIC !!! We spent MANY a Summer Day there when my kid used to swim with the UD Blue Fish… long lines. Not only do they use their own milk from cows on the farm, (funky drive past that farm, but I digress) but it’s also fully student run so they get business experience. And they come up with some interesting flavors I’ve been privvy to testing. YUMY. It’s a GREAT community… of course it is, I’m right down the street :stuck_out_tongue: Seriously, though, not sure how/why they come up with those party school ratings when I’d venture to say majority of the kids on campus AREN’T the true party types. BUT, it is what it is. We’ve gone to their Music Building LOTS of times and while my kid was in a lesson, I’ve walked around and just seen kids having regular fun outside on the lawn etc… in nice little groups . So your kid will absolutely be able to “hang” with other like minded kids !! Plenty of them around.

Let me know if you have any questions about the lay of the land there or anything else around here in Newark. It’s home base for me. Kinda sad my kid didn’t take them up on their offer, but I understand. It really is too much in his back yard that he would feel like he wasn’t “going away” to college at all. Main Street has some GREAT restaurants.

Still waiting as well and can see letter in informed delivery too. Did yours arrive yet?

Ok it was just a post card about a world scholar invite

Yea it was actually a post card. From the photo on informed delivery it looked like a letter.

My daughter applied EA. She was accepted in November, received her merit in December but she is still waiting to hear about Honors. The deadline to hear back is 2/15 for EA applicants, right? Wonder if they will inform those who have not been accepted by February 15th also?

Today mine got a envelope to apply for Scholars and Fellows program. What is it and does it give more money lol

No more money, just an opportunity to be a part of a group of kids with similar interests. If not living on the honors dorm then the student can be a part of the LLC/dorm associated with the fellows program.

On my portal today the enrichment opportunities section disappeared. Before it had said that my honors application had been received and was being reviewed, and now it is gone? Does this mean I am not getting into honors? Did this happen to anyone else?

Happened to me as well two weeks ago. Nothing has changed since.

Mine daughters is still there. Sigh

Check your portal tomorrow and see if you have a future date under Status Update (most likely this coming Friday’s date). If there’s a future date it most likely means an acceptance is forthcoming.

My D’s portal remains the same.

Does anyone know if Distinguished Scholars went out yet? It looks like last year, notifications started on Feb 4th. I know it’s a total longshot but you never know! :crossed_fingers:t2::crossed_fingers:t2::crossed_fingers:t2:

Did anyone hear back from honors with a rejection? Because now my portal says update 2/12 and I’m wondering since it’s late if it’s going to be a rejection?

The portal update, so far, has meant an acceptance. Congratulations!

My D’s portal says Decision Released 2/12, but Status Update still shows last update to application of 11/4.

To those who have already been accepted to honors, which field updated?

I’m not sure exactly what you mean, but under decision letters at the top it says there is a status update and the date is when they accepted you to honors college. If you click on decision letters it takes you to the honors letter. Also under the picture of the bkue hen pennant is a blue bar that says enrichment opportunities and then a yellow bar that says honors college. Under the honors college bar is a paragraph that lets you know you’re accepted. Hope this helps

Thank you. Looks like she’s definitely receiving a decision tomorrow, just not sure what it is.
