Do many UF freshman get off campus apartments or are those kids mainly in the new virtual program?
ClarinetDad16, my experience has been that most freshman live on campus in a dorm. I feel like it allows them to get more of the “college experience” living in a dorm. After that, some transfer to apartments (which is cheaper than dorms), but I do know some students that have lived all 4 years in a dorm (not sure if that’s BC their parents bought FL prepaid 4-year dorm or just BC they wanted to).
@ClarinetDad16 Most of the “dorm style” off campus apartments (the ones right next to campus, like Windsor Hall) are used by Freshman. Very few (dozens?) of the PaCE kids move to Gainesville, they usually wait until they get admitted to campus. However, the ones that do, have formed a group and do activities together (there was an article on this a few months ago).
Those that choose Windsor, do it because they were late on the housing deposit, or the simply like the dorm better than the standard UF style dorms.
