Approximately 32,748 Freshman Applications were received by UF for the class of 2021, around 500 more than last years totals.
Okay that isnt a ton more so we good…unless they decrease the amount of acceptances.
Wishing you both luck!
Actually, from what I’ve heard, the total # of applicants increased while the number of OOS applicants decreased. Last year there was about 20% OOS applicants, this year around 11%. So it sounds like being OOS may be more beneficial this year. @SouthFloridaMom9 @soyunchico
Yay, I hope so for your sake @JPGator98!
Lol i live in Pennsylvania but have Florida residency. Long story don’t ask. I doubt that helpd me but I’m going to tell myself it does haha.
Do you have Florida Pre-Paid? @soyunchico
No i don’t my parents aren’t from Florida.
My dad regrets not knowing about that though.
According to the Admissions annual report that @Gator88NE posted awhile back, UF targeted 6,700 Freshman enrolled for 2016 but actually enrolled 6,987 of 13,810 admits. I guess their yield was higher than expected (50.6%)
If they are aiming for 6,700 again this year and they expect the same yield, they should only admit about 13,250. That would mean about a 40.5% acceptance rate, down from 42.8 in 2016.
Would having the prepaid plan help at all with admission?
@lmelen5184 if anything IMHO I believe it may hurt as UF loves OOS tuition and by you not giving it, they may take someone who does have it.
UF doesn’t consider Florida prepaid during admissions.
IMHO, nothing I’ve seen would make me think OOS students have a significant advantage or disadvantage during admissions. A lot of factors go into admissions, some are positive for OOS students, others are negative, it all about balances out…
Sadly, none of us will know for sure until mid-February! :((
Where did you find that out?
UF also offers the PaCe program, Gator Engineering at Santa DR and Innovation Academy. Look into those in case you’re offered those options. Good Luck!
