Drew, that makes sense. I also spoke with someone from the college who said that it is mandatory to wait until after the deadline of March 1st for Summer B and Fall. (This is for CLAS.) I am a Summer A transfer to hopefully I hear back sometime before the end of March. My deadline was February 1st but still no word :(

You guys should look back at last year’s threads on transfers so you don’t frustrate yourselves, needlessly. They were very late last year and people weren’t finding out until June or July for Fall!! I remember the admission’s office kept changing the dates whenever they called to find out. Good luck.

Orange, what semester were you applying for? Summer A? Fall?
Mom, I have read ALL of them. They were very helpful last year. I did see quite a few people who found out for summer in early March but most found out in mid-late April. Because of this I have stopped checking my status. LOL. Good luck everyone!

Hmm…I applied for Summer A. Do you know why it is that you were reviewed and accepted with the freshman? I just want to know already. I have everything done at USF and I would really like to start figuring out housing. :(

I earned my AA during my junior and senior years of high school, so even though I have 60 hours of credit I’m still supposed to apply with the freshman. The freshman admissions officers evaluate my application and then pass it on to CLAS to see if I have all my prerequisites

I just applied for UF Fall 2010, but I am a bit concerned if whether I wasted my time or if I actually stand a shot. I wrote a decent essay and everything is already submitted, fees and everything.

I am transferring out of FIU with more than the 60 credits required, hoping to get into the Microbiology and Cell Science Department within CALS. Right now I have a 3.3GPA (Physics I brought it down dramatically), and a 3.3 Critical Tracking Course GPA. I have read what people have been posting, and I feel really stupid for applying. I don’t have a 3.7 Pre-professional GPA, or an AA. I go to a state University, and I hear conflicting arguments that Uni students dont get preferential treatment to CC students, while other people say they do.

I work two jobs, and I participate in research at school. All of this I included in my Statement of Intent. I want to go to UF so badly, but I do not know if I am going to make there. I already applied once, as a Senior in HS but did not get in. I dont know why though, I had a 5.0GPA, 1300 SATs, and 200 Community service hours, and Johns Hopkins Admitted me.

I know this is long, but does anybody think I have a chance?

I also wanted to make a point that my current major is Biomedical Engineering, and not to be conceited but perhaps that explains my GPA? Again not to be conceited, perhaps its expected for Science majors to have lower GPAs than poli sci majors? I need help!

Transferring from a University in GA for the Summer A term
3.64 GPA
3.4 Pre-professional courses, but both A’s in the Accounting classes
Trying to transfer into the school of Accounting.

PRAYINGGG I get in. UF is my dream school and the only reason I didnt apply there right out of high school was because I followed my girl friend to college… Ya, didn’t work out; obviously.

What do you guys think my chances are of getting in, and when should we find out?

I hate to say it, but slim to none (<5%) with your GPA and because your transferring from a University. Good luck though, I hope you prove me wrong.

Fisher School of Accounting takes university transfers and they take the best candidate regardless of CC or 4 year institution(that’s what I was told). Warrington School of Business is the one that strictly takes CC transfers.

I applied for Fisher School of Accounting in Summer A term:

University of Central Florida
3.96 GPA
4.0 Pre-professional

I spoke to somebody and they said we will be notified by the end of March.

Quick question: Has anyone applied with LESS THAN 60 credits?

On the UF website, they specifically mention that one needs to have their AA.

On collegeboard, it says: Freshman and sophomore level transfer eligibility extremely limited and admission selective. Students strongly advised to complete AA degrees or 60 semester hours before applying.

So can one apply with less than 60 credits or NO ! ???

Wow, so if I’m not able to get in with my GPA right now, but want to get down to Gainesville to be with friends and family, could I transfer to Santa Fe, take the few classes needed to graduate and than transfer into UF? If thats the case, then it doesn’t make sense that they would accept me from Santa Fe but not from a University first.

Also, UF is NOT taking transfers with less than 60 hours right now
