UF admission decision soon!

so anxious! i need another acceptance to join that lonely one from FSU!!!

Many hearts are gonna be broken at my school! This is our off year. Last year nearly everyone got accepted to UF and the others all went to UCF. The year before they all got into FSU and FIU. So naturally, this year is another FSU year! Nearly 30% of the senior class applied!

^ Ha my class is really small…only like 64 seniors. I’d say 15-20 applied max.

yeah niqueb1 same at my school. It seems like everyone I have ran into has been accepted into FSU. I think that’s how it is at my school too. Everyone is heading up to FSU.

But we have 3 days left now everyone! Well i count three days because I’m not counting Friday lol. But so far monday is almost over, and before we know it Friday will be here:) Remember the day of the decision to try to post your stats up!

Lol i’m not even going to check  I don’t meet the minimum test score requirements. Well I probably will check but just for the heck of it. I don’t want to know how it will feel to see
R E J E C T E D. Deferred hurts enough lol.

kdos, I would assume it’s so low mostly because no one from out of state actually wants to go to UF. I’m sure it’s a little bit harder getting in from OOS, but not so much.
I’m dreading Friday because it’s going to make me decide between GT and UF (in-state). And I don’t want to go to UF but it’s just economical. Great dilemma, huh?

jaredk

don’t think you are alone…my daughter will be facing issues just like yours. She got our home state’s public and prefers to be a bit more independent than that, but it will probably all come down to $.

Maydayparade I agree with you about the deferred thing. But it depends on what they deferred you for i guess. But regardless you should get in:) Good luck!

my school only had 21 applicants apply out of 441 (:

UF is my first choice! I’ll be devastated if I don’t get in, but I’ll be fine!

3 DAYS 21 HOURS 40 MINUTES!

It is soooo close! I agree with a post higher up, the decisions seem so random that it doesn’t seem impossible to get in; that’s what makes it excrutiating!! In a worst case scenario, what do you think the rejection page will look like? I’m sure the acceptance will be all orange and blue.

What are all of your backups? Hopefully that is not the case though!! :)

my backups are UCF, USF, and FSU(originally deferred but raised my test score). I’ll be attending USF if I don’t get in!

yours??

hey FLfriend, I got this from a post on yahoo answers and college confidential. When we get our decisions through the computer the rejection letter starts out like this. I don;t know if it’s changed though…

[University of Florida acceptance letter? - Yahoo! Answers](<a href=“Yahoo | Mail, Weather, Search, Politics, News, Finance, Sports & Videos”>http://■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/question/index?qid=20100212180047AA4hNmS)

and this is how a rejection letter looks…

ugh i couldnt find it, but i know it begins with thank you for applying…

That;s what im hoping i wont have to see on friday

what’s the craziest UF rejectee scenario you’ve heard? i know a guy that got a 1500 M&CR (idk about his grades but he took several AP classes) that got rejected. also my dad’s friend said his daughter supposedly got into MIT but not UF (i’m not really believing that one so much lol). i also know people that got into NYU and Emory but not UF.

From what I’ve heard the reason UF rejects a large number of highly qualified applicants is so that they can keep there SAT averages down for football recruiting reasons.

How many of the recruiting athletes have bad sat and act scores? I thought UF had a certain standard for most.

Oh and how many high student atheleted do they recruit each year?

I also want to know why it seems like UF admits students randomly. I’ve heard a lot of different reasons. I’m not sure if they would intentionally reject qualified students just because of football though.

I don’t have school on Friday so… I’ll be anxiously waiting by my laptop all day. It’s not a super huge deal for me because I got accepted to other Florida schools… I still want to be accepted though.

Yeah everyone i just put its crazy. We could sit here and tlak about it as much as we want. But when friday comes it’s all going to come down to the screen and 6pm. :)

Hey everyone I was thinking about starting the 2011 uf admission decisions thread tomorow night. Is that cool with everyone? That way we just discuss for a day and then Friday will be here and you know the rest:)

Definitely do it! A specific acceptance/rejected thread would be awesome. Good luck everyone, just about 72 hours now!!

Totally, you should make the thread!! It makes me 10 x more nervous now that the “official thread” will be made…so close. As said above, it is so random that it is just hard to know! When my brother got in to UF in 2008, the decisions were released somewhat earlier, around 5:15. Hopefully that happens this year.
