I am a mostly b student and have slacked off in pervious years but my grades do have an upward trend, I guess what I want to know is how much my legacy will play a role and if I have a good chance of acceptance, and what term should I apply for?

Officially, legacy status is “considered” at UF, but if you talk with the AO’s, they will down play its importance (as all AO’s have a tendency to do). At UF (as with most Publics) it really is given very little weight in the admissions process.

However, yours is an interesting story and you should make a point of describing your connection to the school (and the state) in your application. If not in your essay (and the essay at UF is VERY IMPORTANT) then in the “Additional Info” section of your application.

Good Luck!

UF: Aim for 29+/2000+
