How long before can view orientation dates and such? “In addition, you will receive an important email regarding the creation of your GatorLink account, which will establish your official Gator identity and email address.”
Want to accept and move on. unweighted gpa 3.94; weighted about 4.4? 32 ACT, summer B
Anyone have an inside scoop about Orientation dates for Summer B? Would really like to look into hotels and time off. I’d hoped for GatorLink email today; anyone from last year know the lag, maybe send out Monday?
Sarahmic46, scrape and scrounge to go to UF and live on campus. The $60k over 4 years will provide you with a more rewarding and life-changing experience than going to UNF and living at home.
@sarahmic46 If you can afford UF, go, if not, don’t. You’ll need to figure out your expenses if you go to UF. UF will help with this, and in a few weeks they will send out the financial aid info.
You want to avoid a huge amount of debt. It’s up to you and your family to decide how much that is. Several thousands dollars is reasonable, once you get into the 10’s of thousands of dollars, it’s time to give it some real thought…
If you haven’t already, use the UF Net Price Calculator to get a sense of your cost.
Also, remember that you do have options. You could attend UNF for the first 2 years, and then transfer to UF (it’s competitive and based on your major). However, you may find that you like UNF so much, that you don’t want to transfer (and leave your new friends).
You can download the UF GATORWAY phone app. I just checked and the “New Student & Family Guide 2022"” is now available.
@OldLady21 Once the Preview info (such as Dates) is ready, UF will add it to the GATORWAY app. Plan on 2 days, with Fall enrollment sessions taking place mostly in mid June thru July (most Florida HS have graduation before June 8th). Summer B sessions are earlier, in May (also 2 day sessions).
@sarahmic46
Bottom line, clear as daylight… UNC and UF are not even on the same league. You don’t turn down the best University in FL (UF) and top ranked nationally, for a tier 3 liberal arts college.
In summary, the best academic and personal development will be achieved at UF. You will get a much better, long term, return on investment at UF.
So, we are back to that choice of going to the cheaper school or school where I get money but the school is academically not even close to the better school thing. I am referring to the person thinking about UNF over UF. So, go to UNF. I would not hire you.
OMG I got…ACCEPTED!
W GPA: 3.9 (something like that)
SAT: 1300
Took 3 AP classes and 1 Honors class.
Some extracurriculars with leadership roles in a couple.
Out of state from California
Anyone know…
When will UF have Admitted Student Days and
I’m confused on housing -Do we need to register for that now, even if we haven’t committed- Don’t know much about housing, any recommendations for D would be appreciated???
Preferably suite style & other nursing students would be a bonus-Thx
Unweighted GPA: 3.95
Weighted GPA: 4.85 (I think)
ACT/SAT scores: SAT 1450
Class Rank 16 of 833
Course types: 11 AP & others mostly honors. National AP Scholar.with Distinction
Community Service Hours: 500+ hours as Youth Football Coach and Boys & Girls Club Volunteer counselor
Extra-curricular: National Technical Honors Society, Chess Club, Engineering Club, JCC, SCC, Peer Math & Engineering tutoring
I really really want to attend UF, their engineering program is the best, but just can’t make the numbers work without taking on a boatload of debt or working (I’m not lazy, I just don’t want to work). I have Bright Futures and 529 plan but I can’t cover Housing & Food costs. I got the Provost Scholarship at UCF so I might end up going there.
Remember, many kids only live on campus for the first year. If you can get through that year, then move off campus and rent and food are spread out and easier to handle.
