@Juckerz , they haven’t released the merit at if yet. My son got provost and Burnett at UCF. Waiting to see if UF going to offer comparable merit aid ( the three levels of their presidential scholarships ($5k,$8k, or $10k.) My son did get directly into UF honors that gives $2k and the undergraduate research program) so in a couple weeks you’ll know better about merit at if I guess. Dorms and food at UCF are slightly more costly ( dorms way nicer but $$) plus through friends I have found out UCF had to go back to lottery housing for upper class men. That is scary.
Thank you both for the advice. I wasn’t expecting any kind of merit scholarship from UF with my numbers, but I’ll wait and see, another couple of weeks won’t hurt anything, well, it might affect me getting housing, I assume most of those accepting have already paid their deposits, behind the 8 ball again, story of my life!
To: Juckerz and family
How is there any question about going to UCF over UF? It does not sound like UF would be that much more than UCF and whatever it is over UCF, it is worth it. Do not make a mistake like that. I am a professional. Go to a school like UCF and I am hiring the kid that is competing for the same job that went to UF.
Hello,
Does anyone know when Honors Applications open up or if that deadline has expired for incoming freshman? I’ve been accepted to the class of 2022 but I’m wondering if UF has the same “invitation to apply for honors after admissions decisions” style that other schools have. Any help would be appreciated!
I’ve heard UF doesn’t really give merit cash aside from national merit. Son was not invited to Honors for 2k and expecting $0 from UF even thou UCF was $30K.
@oldlady21 I would like to know the same. Daughter also got summer b- I don’t even know the dates for that or anything about housing info
UF has its Presidential scholarships that come out in late February. But does anyone know if UF has predetermined breakpoints that set how much they give?
I paid the $25 right after we applied for the housing “place in line” but we haven’t seen an email about a real housing deposit- should I have already done that? If she’s going Summer B do I do one for fall and one for summer?

For housing do the $25 application if haven’t already. Then there isn’t a rush, can decide where going for sure and materials will come out for doing contract and then there’s a wait for May for housing assignments. It might take actual orientation to know more than what is available on website.

Classes begin Monday July 2nd, move in will be the week before, also unknown as they give you a move in appt (different from FSU that gives a window of days).
Yeah, that is pretty shocking.

Question: Can we apply to UF Honors Program after being accepted like last year? Or did they change it this year to where they grant only direct admission to UF Honors?
@kit4kat Where did you end up going?
Question: I applied to UF in November 2017 as a freshman after the nov 15th deadline. At the most I was hoping to be on the space available wait list and not expect a responce until march. Yesterday I checked my application status and it said that because I would be graduating from highshool with my AA or more then 60 college credits my application was sent to the college of my major to be reviewed for consideration as a transfer student. I’m not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Currently I am 9th in my class out of 178. I will be graduating highschool with 84 college credits and my AA degree. I have a 7.7 weighted GPA a 3.66 unweighted expected to increase after this term and a 1370 on the SAT. I want to go to uf for the dual language degree in chinese and japanese with a second major in computer science. I have 3 years of chinese from highschool but not college and that would be a critical course I would be missing. So Im not sure it would be acceptable, in addition i’m a jack kent cooke college scholarship semifinalist and if i’m chosen as a finalist i’m worried that i may loose the scholarship as a transfer student since its not transfer student type scholarship. Is there a way to request for my application to be considered as a freshman and not a transfer?
@Aya07 Keep in mind that you’re a “special” status. A freshman that will start school as a junior with an AA degree. You’re still a FTIC (First time in college) student, so I would think your scholarship is still valid. However, you’ll need to check with them.
It’s good that a college is considering your application. As a true freshman your applications (being late) was very likely to be denied. As a transfer (a FTIC with an AA degree), you now have a much better chance of being accepted.
Accepted for Summer B

@fall2018 I did a search of UF’s site for admitted students’ day. Looks like registration will open Feb 19 for these days. They’re all Mondays: March 12, 19, 26 and April 13.
When will we get our UFID email?
@ucfdefere your UFID is on your application status by your name. Click on the triangles get it. Gatorlink emails will be early in the week.
