Got the Gatorlink login to work I guess but it’s devoid of info compared to FSU and UCF. I see “myUFL” Student page shows “No articles currently available”. Is that what others are getting?
Has anyone not gotten their gatorlink email yet?
DD accepted (go, Gators!)
In-State
4.36 weighted GPA
9 APs (4-5 scores) and all Honors courses
1380 SAT
Lots of ECs
Summer Plan B admission
Does anyone know whether students who start in the summer term stay in the same dorms for the Fall term?
Got in! 1510 SAT; 3.85/4.0 GPA; Out of State; Tons of Extra Credit and leadership.
Does anyone know (1) when scholarships come out (2) how to find out which major you were admitted as (3) how to find out about acceptance into any honors programs etc. (4) how to find out about acceptance into Innovation Academy?
I applied as a business major and wrote the essay to apply for the Innovation Academy. I didn’t see anything about the Innovation Academy when I opened up the application status page, so I assumed that I didn’t get in to that program?
@periwinkle1923 Scholarships will be out by early March.
You’ll be admitted to whatever major you’ve chosen. If you didn’t choose a major, you will be exploratory. You can switch majors at any time (it’s easy to do as a freshman/sophomore).
A small % of students were auto admitted into the honor’s program. Everyone else will need to apply. I believe the application is now live? Go ahead and apply
Your acceptance should have said “Innovation Academy”. Please check it again. If it says Fall or Summer B, you’ve been accepted as a regular student. I think you had to pick IA as an option and not just write the essay? If you still want into IA, you can contact Admissions and ask, they may let you switch.
@Gator88NE
If you apply to the honors program when will you be notified if selected?
@Gator88NE Thanks!
Has anybody tried to run the npc calculator on the UF website? A few weeks ago, I ran it and I got 11,000 in institutional grants, but I ran it yesterday and I only got 200 in institutional grants. If this isn’t a bug, then that means I wouldn’t be able to afford a dream college I got into :(.
UF is less expensive than they claim, thankfully.
@jprtaco what do you mean by that? Like the actual cost of attendance is lower than what they estimate?
UF’s Cost of Attendance (COA) is fairly conservative. It’s very possible to reducing your housing cost (live off campus with roommates) and food cost. While COA is $21,130 (in-state), a frugal student could save thousands off that number.
UF’s COA:
Tuition / Fees $6,380
Books and Supplies 1,210
Computer/Cell Phone $1,250
Housing $5,440
Food $4,470
Transportation $1,100
Clothing Maintenance $970
Personal $310
Total Budget $21,130
It’s also possible to spend a lot more than COA, especially if you’re living in an expensive apartment…
I think so, yes. I have 2 there now and have never spent that amount. The first year was the most expensive because we paid dorm and meal plans. After that, they went to apartments that included everything and we give them money for groceries. They have the bright futures scholarship, which covers tuition, but the bill is usually around 3k per semester each and they are both in engineering, with extra fees. Apartments are cheap and so are food and activities. Mine are not in frats and only work summers. They will graduate debt free and never received any aid from UF. Of course, this is an in- state story, but I do think they over estimate the price to be safe.
I’m actually an out-of-state student, so it’s considerably more expensive for me to attend UF. My confusion is just surrounding this claim on UF’s FAQ: “When awarding financial aid, UF does not treat out-of-state students differently than in-state students, except that the cost of attendance used for an out-of-state student is higher than that used for an in-state student.” So, wouldn’t that mean I would get the same amount of institutional grants as an in-state student? Why am I getting an estimate of only 200 dollars…
Am I just worrying over nothing? I’m just thinking that the npc calculator isn’t entirely accurate and doesn’t portray all the different grants that one would get from a UF financial aid package.
I wouldn’t put too much faith into the NPC, one way or the other. You’ll have to wait on the final financial package from UF.
when do we get our physical letters
Does Uf give out merit money? will i find that out at the same time as the scholarships? and also is it too late to apply for scholarships? someone help lol
