Very hyped.
It is my understanding UF does not take major into consideration for admissions? Does anyone know if this is really true? Seems unlikely or some small majors would could likely not get any new students. Or is there something I am missing?

Comments: moved to the united states three weeks late into junior year and struggled with being placed in lower-level classes as I moved from a third world country. I was not allowed into AP lit as i wasn’t in AP lang last year, no AP econ at my school. Hoping for my SAT and extracurriculars to pull for me even if my GPA/course rigor has extenuating circumstances to it. All of this is explained in UF’s “additional information” section
@beach1234 UF does not consider your major for regular freshman admissions. If you end up not being offered admission to the traditional freshmen class, UF will look at your major to see if you are secondarily eligible for PaCE.
@gator99xx Yeah that’s true. I put on my application that I would be graduating with my AA, so it might not take them as long to get back to me if they decide to take me in as a transfer. I have a feeling that they are going to take me in as a transfer or accept me for summer. FSU accepted me for summer, but UF has higher GPA and test score averages so I’m not really sure what’s going to happen, hoping for the best though.
Please chance me:

@joshbb - tough to say on these “chances” – I have no insight other than what I’ve researched – the WGPA appears low based on their guidelines, but you never know how these are reviewed. At all of the colleges, you see threads where higher grades don’t get in vs lower grade kids who do…ECs, essays, high school rigor/reputation, etc. all play a roll…good luck!

So excited! One week left everyone.
@BillyMadison123 Why has he decided he doesn’t like FSU? That’s our choice if we don’t get into UF (he got into USF, but he isn’t interested).
@danielle6849 he got a great package from both USF and UCF and not as much from FSU but is still holding out hope for UF. I believe if he gets rejected from UF he will reconsider FSU.

Comments: My essay was about my illness when I 12 that made me lose my vision, and how my visual impairment didn’t stop me from living the life I wanted. I had some trouble in sophmore year which I explained. I’m also a first generation student.
What are the chances you’ll get in UF if you got in umiami?
@tica16 Very similiar averages. UF does a more holistic review of everything.
