Hello! I am currently in a community college and looking to later transfer to UF for mechanical engineering. My question is can I transfer with only completing 6 of the 8 Pre requisites or tracking corses? UF's website states that "Completion of at least 6 of the 8 critical tracking courses at the time of application with a minimum 2.5 critical gpa" is required. I want to transfer in the fall but I won't have completed calc 3 and differental equations by then, so I will have 6 of the 8 pre requs done by that time. Thanks for the help!!

It sounds like it from the quote, but I would check with your CC transfer GC or the college directly. They should be more than happy to answer your question.

Of course, even if you are admitted with missing courses, you will have to take them after transfer to catch up, possibly delaying graduation.

Yep, 6 of 8 is all that’s required (that and your AA degree if transferring from a CC). However, keep in mind that it is competitive, so you do want your GPA to be higher than the minimum.
Good Luck and Go Gators!
Applying to UF as a junior, having completed my AA degree at the local CC and completed all the College of Engineering course requirements. Was wondering if they look heavily on the SAT/ACT? Mines low at an 1800. Also, what is the average GPA for students accepted? Thank you!
They don’t consider your SAT/ACT scores. They check your high school transcripts, but mainly to see if you’ve met the language requirement (and not your high school GPA).
I don’t know the average GPA, but it varies by program. For example, it may be a bit easier (lower GPA requirements) to get into Nuclear Engineering than the much more in-demand Electrical or Mechanical engineering departments.
