<p>Is it too late to apply? If it is, can one apply during spring term or sophomore year?? Also, what are the advantages? Do graduate (my goal is med) programs think highly of it at UF?</p>
<p>being in the honors program is little more than a footnote on your transcript after graduation. it is completely unrelated to ‘graduating with honors’, which is the important kind of honors. no one will care that you were in the honors program.</p>
<p>applying in the spring is called lateral admissions, and it can be done and isn’t terribly difficult. the advantages are enumerated on the honors website, but I don’t think any of them are particularly special. Research opportunities is the biggest one, and you don’t have to be honors to do research.</p>
