UF Innovation Academy Vs UCF

Hello!
I want to to into engineering and was accepted into both the UF Innovation Academy and into UCF. The Innovation Academy (IA) at UF only has 3 engineering majors, while UCF has like 20. Considering I don't know which type of engineer I want to become yet, should I go to UCF or UF's IA. I really want to be a gator and I hear the IA is an amazing program, so is it possible to get a BS in Industrial and systems Engineering (through the IA), and then go to Grad. school and become a mechanical/electrical engineer or something? Help me make a decision :) Thanks!

Absolutely! I am in ISE right now and it’s a great program. Ranked in the top ten nationally! One of our professors did that in the opposite actually. Bachelors and masters in ME, PhD in ISE.

It’s definitely the most versatile of the engineering majors.

Research every engineering major and what people with those degrees do for a living. Pick your top 3. If one of those top 3 is ISE, you need to be prepared to commit to it if you go to UF. I personally say, if its in top 3, go to UF IA, the program is amazing with a exclusive minor that will “wow” recruiters. Make sure you have at least one or two backup majors included in the program, and if you go to UF, start calling for more engineering majors to get included, even if you don’t want them. The majors getting added to IA are the ones in highest demand to get added, so start requesting like electrical and mechanical engineering once you get to uf and get a lot of support for it so that those become priority to get added.

UCF is a good school, but UF is a whole other level

I don’t know which is better, but my nephew (who is very smart, UF Honors) is graduating from UF in mechanical engineering and going right to UCF for his masters, also in mechanical engineering. He seems to think they’re both good. So go where you feel happy.

If you go to IA and you decide to change majors, you’d better hope the other major is available.

If it had been me, I would not. (Opinion).
