Ok, here is my situation...
I am interested in business, and though I am not completely set on it, if I do anything in business, I would like for it to be associated with Global Business specifically. Please give me advice specific to that. I need to decide TODAY, so quick responses would be appreciated. I got into FSU and UF, and I am having the worst time deciding between the schools. I love FSUs campus, and I am from Georgia, so it feels more like home. Almost all of my close friends are going to FSU, and I have a roomate set up there, he is a guy i really respect from my highschool, and i really enjoy being around, but he is not one of my best friends (even though these people are also going to FSU). Just from personal experience, the people I know who go to UF, and who are going, are not like me at all, and the people from FSU that I know, are the more down to earth people who I could see being my friends. I do not want this to affect my decison too much though, because I know I can find good friends wherever I go. Also, FSU is giving me $10,000, which really is a factor since my family doesnt have loads of extra money laying around.
I am smart, I got a 1510 on the SAT, have a 4.0 GPA, and im going to be valedictorian, so in some way, I feel like I owe it to myself to go to UF, which is considered the better school generally. I found out recently that FSU has a specific International Business major, which is perfect for what I want to do. UF doesnt have an international business major. I am curious how much this will affect my actual education in terms of international business, along with my preparedness for life after collge. Would FSU actually provide a better education for me? UF does have a masters in International business available, but that isnt very appealing since you have to work for two years before you can get your masters. PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO, I NEED TO DECIDE TONIGHT!!!

This is a very hard choice for you, but let's look into some statistics. Hold on for a second while I look up what I need.

I couldn't find the statistics on the amount how much graduates get paid, but I doubt it would be any different. Also FSU may not be as good as UF, but that doesn't mean you're not getting the job you want just because you selected the wrong college. FSU has the specific degree you want, coupled with the fact that all your best friends are going there, you probably want to go to FSU.

Besides, if you want to continue your studies in global business, you can always go to UF and get the masters there. You can get the best of both worlds. I hope this helps.

You can't go wrong either way. But here is some info on Warrington.

Warrington College of Business Administration - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and also, most all business schools that offer MBA's in any field require or HEAVILY suggest you get work experience before you enroll. Any business school that does not consider work experience gives degrees that are worthless.

i would go to UF and get your Masters and BS in 4 1/2 or 5 years. You'll have a leg up in the job market and still can go to get a MBA later if you want.

"Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a business major (or be working on a degree to be received before the start of the MAIB program),"

Tomslawsky makes a good point.

I just answered another persons question here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/florida-state-university/505751-how-does-fsu-s-intl-rel-program-fair-against-other-florida-colleges.html

Because FSU has the exact area you want, and is strong in it, its a better choice. You could always get the mba from UF later.

Please don't let the people at your high school that are going to UF affect your decision. Many of my friends from my high school are going to both FSU and UF. We are all great friends ....get along really well .....try hard in school and are down to earth. A large group of them including myself that are going to UF are really hard-working dedicated students and very involved in school activities (athletes, student government, etc.) You will meet many nice people at UF (I'm sure )that are intelligent but fun and down to earth like yourself. You won't be making a mistake if you pick FSU though. It is a beautiful school. It's the only other school I looked at in Florida and I gave up 14K they offered me because my major is better at UF. Good luck in your decision whether a seminole or a gator.
