I got accepted into fiu with full ride and automatic honor college enrollment and UF. I planed on major in business(either international business, management, or finance) then ultimately pursue my MBA. I am financially independent, so I don't want to relay on my parents with anything. If I go to UF or UM, I will have to get a loan with the help of Bright future and federal aid. But if I go to fiu, I would get about 5000 dollars extra every year. So right now I am torned, although I want to go to UF or UM simply because their ranking on USNEWS, but my friend told me I get the same education in FIU. Is it ture? Is the average salary of business undergraduates higher in UF or UM? I know I can always apply to UF for my master, but I intended to do it while work professionally, so will an undergrad business degree from FIU get less salary?

USNEWS rankings are bad for actually listing out the quality of schools. They use many factors and whatnot that generally do not correlate to better career placement/salary, etc.

You will have to look at Career Surveys for each of the schools (usually can be found by googling X University career survey) and see if there is any noticeable difference between starting salaries of their business majors.

If you are financially independent, I would highly suggest taking the free ride. That would be the best option, least money out of your pocket so you can have more for your MBA in the future as well, unless your future employer would be willing to fund it for you. This would usually happen several years in the field of course.

How much would UF cost you out of pocket?
Can you list
Bright Futures
Federal Loan
Work Study
Grant (…)
etc.

With this info, we would be able to look at cost/benefit.
