So I was just reviewing my sons preview brochure online and noticed they want to charge parents $120. For a meal and program materials. If we want to sit in on information sessions is this required? I couldn't care less about a meal, so $120 for some brochures?
Can we show up and sit in on the sessions? What is special about the program material that I couldn't get with a phone call or online.
Thanks for any info.

The parents have a separate session, I get the sense they are trying to dump the parents and have the kids do it alone :)

You have to register (and pay) to sit in on the sessions. To be honest, it’s really optional for parents. I was going to spend the day at the mall…but dd wants me “on-site”. :)

We haven’t received information about preview, yet.

@SarahPsMom did you check the students new e-mail @ufl.edu? If not, they may be sending out invites in waves, to spread the reservations across the available dates. Here is the key info:

Student Preview Cost: $180
Includes:
Meals on Day One
Program materials
Registration materials and one night lodging (Jennings Hall, I think)
Optional Day Two meal plan available (additional $15)

Guest & Family Members, First guest: $120
Each additional Family member or guest $45
Includes:
Meals on Day One
Program materials
Optional Day Two meal plan available (additional $15)

2 day Sessions:
June 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 17-18, 19-20, 29-30
July 1-2, 8-9, 10-11, 15-16, 17-18, 22-23, 24-25

After registering, you’ll pay on-line using a credit card (I didn’t see any other options). They do not charge an “extra fee” for using the credit card. Don’t forget to take into account any IB/AICE/AP testing that may be scheduled in June!

I called the Deans office and I could log in to register. They didn’t send to personal email or gatorlink even though we were told they would resend. Will sign up when I get a date from DH…only weekday sessions. Bummer.
