Preview vs. Orientation

Do most kids attend both? I know orientation is mandatory while preview does not seem to be.

We live in new york, so we are just trying to figure out if its best to have our son attend both.

has anyone attended both? would you recommend it?

thanks

Parent2Noles highly recommends preview. We did not go to preview and we felt we got all the information we needed from orientation. I did attend the family orientation which is probably just a way to keep the parents out of the kids hair but I really did learn a lot about FSU and did enjoy the programs preparing me for what to expect as my student went off to college.

As always.... Thanks Cybermom

At orientation you meet with your adviser and register for classes but you can keep modifying your Fall schedule throughout the summer until it is "perfect".

D signed in but there was nothing yet re: signing up for orientation. Does anyone know the dates? We have dates for preview but not orientation. D is summer also.

I don't think you can sign up for orientation yet. They are still doing Spring 2008 orientation I would imagine.

There will be two-day sessions in May and June.

Was just hoping for the dates at this point. I'd like to go, but the more notice we have the better.

Well here is the link to register but it might not be set up yet.

fsu.edu | orientation registration

Yes, she signed in here, but nothing really there yet. Nothing live and no dates. Thanks. We'll keep watching. Apparently, the dates are in the packet that comes by mail.

Well from last year, summer orientation was throughout the month of may and then one on july 18.

While fall orientation was the month of june and one on august 18.

orientation last 2 days, and they will have about 3 orientations per week.
