I applied a little bit later than I should have, which has me a bit worried. I applied for the Spring 2014 term around Mid June, to be precise on June 20th. Just checked my status and it says that my transcripts and grade point average are being evaluated.
Stats:
43 Credits (Florida CC - AA Transfer)
Pre-Prof: 4.0
Overall GPA: 3.85
Applied To: Fisher School of Accounting

I will be taking my remaining two pre-requisite courses in the fall term.

another thing, i have read that u need 60 transferable credit hours of course work to apply as a transfer in UF but i have only 30 or so… will they accept or even consider me for admission?

If you are are not going to have 60 hours by the time you would start at UF, you shouldn’t apply. UF doesn’t accept anyone who has 13-59 credits.

I’m applying for Political Science. I AP’d out of all my pre-reqs for the major except for International Relations. That class will make me or break me.

I applied to uf a few weeks ago, I’m transferring from a community college with 61 credits. My gpa is like a 2.75 the minimum gpa for my program, which is African American studies is a 2.5. My application has been referred to my college? Is that a good thing? The program is new and I’m sure many people are not applying for it because everyone there is trying to get into limited access programs.

I checked the admissions requirements for the Fisher School of Accounting which is part of Warrington, and it says you must have completed managerial accounting at the time of submitting the application. This means I probably won’t get in, but I do have a solid backup in mind, UCF…(U Can’t Finish) LOL!

I applied to UF on July 8th, they received everything by the 17th, and the following week my application was referred to my college. It’s been like that for about two weeks now. My major is English, pre-prof is 4.0, overall GPA is 3.5, and I have completed my AA with a total of 71 credits. FSU is my back-up, but UF is my first choice.

Hopefully I’ll get in x[

@UFpotential1, getting your application referred to your college is Step 2 in the 3-step process. First they evaluate everything you have sent so that it is all valid, and then they sent it prepared to your college to make the final decision. The third step is obviously finding out the decision. So far, you and I have been told our information is accurate and we have all the requirements to be considered for acceptance. As far as your major, I didn’t know that it was a new one at UF. I’ve been told by many that UF is pretty strict with GPAs; the lowest that I know they have taken has been a 3.3, and it was for journalism. But of course it all depends on the college. One girl had a 3.7 for Agricultural science (I think?), and she wasn’t able to get in. Which college is your major from?

@Vellex, my major is African American Studies. I’ve seen people get in as a transfer with like a 2.5 but everyone case is different. Hopefully we hear back soon at the beginning on the acceptance.

@UFpotential1 Oh I understand, I meant what college African American Studies is from, like CLAS (College of Liberal Arts and Sciences), etc. And people getting in with lower GPAs makes me hopeful. Everyone kept telling me I needed at least a 3.5 to have a good chance in getting in, and for science they say the colleges expect even higher. Maybe they were trying to intimidate me lol. But of course, I hope I don’t hear later than October. One month is quite a stretch to get EVERYTHING done (housing, classes, etc.).

You do not actually have to have Managerial Accounting finished before you apply. I called the school months ago when I was going to apply for the fall and asked them. I had not even finished Financial Accounting at the time and the counsel said to apply anyway, but to try and take Managerial Accounting that ends as early as possible. He also said all they really look at for transfers (for Fischer School of Accounting anyway) is GPA.

I applied for spring in back in January. Major: Accounting, I have a 4.0 GPA and it has said “referred to school for decision” for months now.

Thanks Garrick,
Wow thats crazy, seems like they’re taking a really long time. I hope that doesn’t happen with my application. Fisher is tough, I’ve heard people with high GPA’s not getting accepted. I think its because they’re one of the most elite accounting programs in the country (Top 5) among public universities.

So I have 64 credits and will have an aa by the time spring comes around. I just submitted my application today. Do I have a chance? CLAS History major. 3.0 GPA Santa Fe CC Pre prof GPA 4.0

Are they lenient when it comes to pre-reqs? I’m applying for Computer Science and it has 7 pre-reqs out of which a minimum of 6 are required…but I only have 5. Should I bother applying or wait a whole another semester and get the 6th one in as well?

Computer Science: Complete MAC 2311, MAC 2312, MAC 2313, and PHY 2053 or 2048 w/ lab. Students are also strongly encouraged to complete PHY 2054 w/ lab or PHY 2049 w/ lab and a course in Java Programming. Learn more.

You have to have all of the required courses - if you are missing the strongly encouraged courses then you would still have a shot.

Hey everyone, I just checked my admissions status for Spring 2014 and I was accepted!

Good Luck to all applicants!
