Yeah, if UF doesn’t accept me, then UCF is definitely my second choice. UF is a way more prestigious school and it ranks substantially higher in terms of education as well best education dollar for dollar. Don’t be too discouraged by the wait time, with your 3.87 GPA you’re almost guaranteed to get in. :)

Hello, My major is theater and I applied around early July. I have 48 credits and taking 4 pre-req this semester at my community college. I’m president of the drama club, have a 3.3 GPA and a 3.4 overall, Member of The National Society of Leaders and Success, and have competed in the American College Theater Festival 2 years in a row. My status is in step 2 where my college has yet to make a final decision. What are the odd’s of getting accepted/denied? I got accepted in the theater program at UCF and USF when I applied after. Is it normal for them to not make a decision so quick? It just makes sense for them to notify the students as soon as possible to fix financial and housing as quick as possible before Spring begins.

GPA matters the most when its comes to transfer admission. You might want to check the department’s admissions requirements. I’m not sure how much extra-curricular activities matter when it comes to transfer admissions. If you already got accepted to the university, the chances of you getting into the college are very high.

Got my acceptance notification this morning through the website. Hope to see some of you at the swamp!

Congrats Thespian!

I applied to UF for their dual Bachelors degree program for Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering for the Spring 2014 semester. I was called by the Mechanical & Aerospace program on Sep 17th because they needed an updated transcript that included my summer classes that did not finish until after I submitted my application. I applied around August 10th with a deadline of Aug 16th.

2 days later I was accepted, I found out by checking my application status on their website & 2 days after that I received a “you’ve been accepted” packet from them as well as USF’s Mechanical Engineering program. I have until Nov 23rd to decide between the two.

My current educational credentials

Hillsborough Community College
Summer 2012 - Fall 2013
65 credits completed; 16 in progress
4.0 GPA

Also when I applied I had only completed 2 of 8 critical tracking courses (UF requires 6 of 8 completed at the time you submit your application).

In-state, AA transfer, 3.5 GPA, accepted into the Microbiology program in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences!

Looks like I’ll be seeing frausting in class because I just got accepted too! :D

Congrats ya’ll! I’m still waiting and it’s making me crazy! My ISIS is still acting like I’m a current student. It had me do an enrollment agreement for spring, and I have still have financial aid awarded for spring even though they took it off for fall. I’m trying really hard to just see that as a glitch and not as a sign that I will be accepted again.

Mine is still being evaluated, they said you should get to know if you’re accepted or denied to the university by mid-late October.

Frausting and Trutinel congrats! Just curious when did you guys apply?

I’m applying for Nutritional Sciences (CALS), overall 3.55 GPA, 4.0 pre-professional GPA, and I will have my AA when I transfer. Florida resident coming from Eastern Florida State College.

My current status is still being evaluated… keeping my fingers crossed!

Also do more students transfer in the fall as opposed to spring semester?

I submitted everything by the very end of August and I went on to step two by the first few days of September. Good luck!

Yes, at least that’s what I’ve heard

Oh okay and thanks! =]

I got accepted into Sociology with a 3.5 GPA!

Try not to get discouraged Megan. CALS is known for being slow with decisions. They told me everyone would be notified by November 15th. Good luck!

Thanks agmama! Waiting is never fun but that’s just part of it. Mine was referred to my college last night

Hells Yes! Finally…
“Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Spring 2014 term has been referred to your college for a final decision”

Now the suspense

has anyone been able to sign up for Orientation?
