UF Springs Dorm - Any chance of having a good social life?

So I'm an upcoming freshman and just found out I'll be in the Springs dorm rather than Broward, Rawlings, or Jennings, which were mine and my roommate's top three choices. I'm a really social person and am wondering, since Springs is so far away from everything and I've been told is very un-social, what to expect and what to expect and how to be more social in an anti-social dorm?

I’m not familiar with UF, but generally speaking the dorms have a completely different set of students living in them from one year to a next. It’s kinda silly to try to generalize how people living in the building act, cause it won’t be the same people next year.

Otherwise, leave your door open. Be friendly. Go meet your neighbors. Take your roommate with you in the first or second week and just go knock on every door in the hall, introduce yourselves, make some new friends. I’m sure you’ll figure it out. Otherwise, nothing’s stopping you from walking over to the “social” dorms.
