I already submitted my application for a political science major transfer. I am taking 3 of the four required classes this fall at FSU. I have a 3.6 overall gpa and a b+ in the one class I have already taken. I will have 65 credits after the fall semester. My other 3 classes are pretty easy, so I should be able to get A’s. I’m worried because I only have one of the major classes completed. I know I will need to send UF a copy of my transcript after the fall to show my final grades. Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back in these types of cases? Thanks.
@djwill99 not yet
@Melissa96 Are transfer applications for CLAS (specifically psychology) pooled as well? I applied in July and have not received any updates on my application yet.
GPA: 3.89
CRITICAL TRACKING GPA: 4.0
COLLEGE: HHP
MAJOR: Sport Management
TRANSFERRING FROM: SFC
STATUS: Still waiting, but… hopeful.
@kashmalazeb - no Psychology doesn’t pool but also it is some CLAS advisors who are making decisions so they have to get through the beginning of fall/drop add before they can really get onto making Spring decisions which they are doing now. The best thing you can do is to check your application status to make sure we have all of your transcripts with grades through the summer and so long as everything is here, you should be getting an answer soon.
@Melissa96 Can you say what the average gpa for the online BABA program was for the summer applicants?
@jjt0407 - UFO does their own admission - the apps don’t go through the campus office - BUT since they don’t have the same space limitations, what is listed on their website is straightforward what you need to be admitted. https://ufonline.ufl.edu/degrees/undergraduate/business-administration-bs/
@Melissa96 Would it be possible to chance me? My cumulative GPA is expected to be 3.91 when I graduate in December, provided this semester goes without a hitch. I believe both of my personal statements were extremely strong, though my resume is weak: I have a lot of volunteer and volunteer coordination experience, but no work experience (due to my mom insisting I focus on school first and foremost) and no internship experience in the field. If my chances are extremely low, I’d like to get started on looking at alternative options for Fall of 2020 or even taking the remaining business pre-reqs that I haven’t taken, and testing my luck there. If you can’t, no worries, and thank you in advance!
Does anyone know when CLAS Enlish decisions come out? I applied in March of this year, I know the deadline was only yesterday (Sept. 15) but I was wondering if anyone knew the soonest possible date for them to start releasing decisions
@CTGator if you are a transfer student what matters most is - what classes did you take and what GPA did you earn. Completion of prerequisites is an absolute must.
@Melissa96 I’ve completed both prerequisites and have a 4.0 pre-req GPA. Additionally, I completed 2 of the 5 recommended lower division classes and have 2 more in progress, which I’m expecting to get A’s in. That would give me a 4.0 on that front as well. Thank you for the reply!
@Melissa96 Do you have an approximate date when most CLAS transfers (with me being Poli Sci) will have their decisions released?
@wizard0224 Halloween - they have already started but they hope to have their decisions done by the end of October for spring. https://www.advising.ufl.edu/admissions/transfer-admissions/
@Melissa96 Received an e-mail yesterday, stating my file was now complete and in que to have my GPA calculated and a decision made.
Does this mean, I’ve met the criteria for admission, already?
@jjt0407 - who did the email come from?
Admissions.
@Melissa96 I just received an email stating that my application in accounting program will be reviewed soon, and I find that the pool is quite competitive. If I didn’t get in as accounting major, will I received admission for other business majors. My Overall gpa is 3.9 and pre-pro Gpa is 4.0.
@Gjumper – only if the business program is willing to consider. Finance/Marketing/Management/Info Systems is iffy at best for a reconsideration - General Business is probably likely
@Melissa96 - If I’m a competitive transfer coming in with my AA (with honors) from a FL state college, is it actually guaranteed like they like to say at EFSC? I’m applying for Anthropology.
@scubagator - not guaranteed, no. AA students do get a preference but definitely just having an AA degree does not mean a student will be admitted.
