UF Transfer GPA reset?

Hi,

I've been surfing through different forums, but never got an accurate answer.

I have a 3.00 GPA and I am transferring from College to University of Florida.
Does the GPA reset once I go into UF?
What happen with the other grades that I had?
I was thinking that if I want to apply into grad school, will they be able to see my other grades from College? I had an F, because I was a bad student, but then I found motivation into my major and got straight A's ,and took this class again ,and now it is an A. Will this course show as an A or as an F?
I was thinking that if I want to graduate with a good GPA, I could retake in summer those classes that I got a C in College, while I study in the university in Spring and Fall.

Do you think that this will work in order to get a 4.00 GPA, just if it doesn't reset. and if it does reset will it be a good idea just for grad school?

There are too many GPAs for different reasons to give you one answer.

A UF GPA only involves UF courses only
Financial aid uses an overall GPA to determine eligibility
Grad School uses an upper division GPA (what is your GPA starting the semester after you earned your 60th credit)
