UF Transfer thread Fall 09

lol @ Danny, calm down man I went back on and it looks like they finished doing “maintenance.” Unfortunately, my damn admissions page still hasn’t changed…If no one gets accepted today I’m going back to my Tues/Wed Theory.

So it was you with the tues/wed theory…

ebeltrang: "Hello everyone. Have anybody heard anything about the college of Engineering? "

Hi, I also applied to the College of Engineering for EE. The date I’m hearing from friends that have talked to the associate dean that “they plan on finishing the applications by May 2nd and decisions should be out by the May 15th”. Might be out earlier but they wont give a definite answer.

I’m not holding my breath for them anymore. Their playing games with the apps so, I’m just going to finish up the paper work for FSU and see what happens from there.

Cum GPA: 3.4
Pre-Pro GPA: 3.7

Indeed, twas I.

Come on, let’s use some deductive reasoning here here. Last week, aside from those letters from the e-school and some other colleges, the majority of CLAS decisions came out Tues. and Wed. sometime around 8pm. Nothing on M/R/F/S/S. So, logically, this week will have decisions on Tues. and Wed. too. And since we have proof that CLAS wants decisions out BY the 30th, which is a next week Thursday, the final decisions will be out at the latest on a Wed.

So, from a logical standpoint, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are when decisions will be out for this week and the following week. Hopefully we all get decision at a higher frequency. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

I am going with ^^^'s logic I think we should start hearing stuff the next 2 days.

Good luck all

anyone have news about CALS, this wait is crazy, i wish they’d give us a decent time frame.

has any admitted student here received update on financial aid? mine says fafsa received on 4/8 (it was a correction), and i was accepted on 4/15 …I am wondering when they will update financial aid packages

@ rsala - No financial aid updates for me either. No updates on anything actuallly… I have yet to receive my official letter, orientation information, or an e-mail account. The only thing that changed was my decision page last Wed., but nothing else.

Hey guys,
I found this link that’s a good read while we wait in agony over decisions:

[Frequently Asked Questions - Budget Reduction - Office of the President - University of Florida](http://www.president.ufl.edu/budget-reduction/faq.html)

It’s from last year regarding budget cuts. Scroll to the bottom (Students Section) and you’ll find answers to some of the questions we’ve been having.

good read, thanks vzon.

Are all the acceptances given out yet?

no, calm down.

Before posting that up vzon, notice the date… before everyone goes around getting scared if their major will be cut or something along those lines… this was from 2008

I know what year its from, I said it was from last year in the post.

I put that up here because a lot of people are saying “How can such a good school have problems sending out decisions?” and there’s your explanation. There’s other stuff in there that I’m sure is obsolete, but nonetheless it’s a good read.

sometimes i think UF takes forever to finalize transfer admissions in hopes that numerous potential transferees buckle under the time restraint pressures and commit to another school…thus, thinning out the pool of requirement-met applicants…and for those UF hopefuls who are foolish/wise enough to stick it out (the prolonged admissions process) get rewarded with an acceptance letter. just a theory.

Just tried to check status, first it said I was not authorized to view isis, now it says its temporarily unavailable. The first message scared me a lil because it implies that I am out of the system, but maybe its just going through the updates…

EDIT: its back up, and still same referred to college for final decision message

I think around 7 P.M they do some configurations and updates.
But my theory is that if you can’t see your status page, then I guess they are updating it.

Another reason it takes so long is the lack of staff reviewing applications. I know the lady i talked to said she was by herself reviewing apps

Did anyone get accepted yesterday?

any acceptees receive their letters? nothing here

UPDATE…financial aid came through…Uf signs you up for possible eligibility of NATIONAL SMART GRANT as well…pretty epic grant its as large as pell grant =)
