UF vs USF for MassCom HELP

UF has always been my dream school since my dad and sister both went there. I never even considered a different college. Then, I applied to USF just in case and heard back months before UF (because UF doesn't send out acceptance notifications until Feb). I never felt a "I'm home" feeling at the USF campus, but I was accepted into the Provost's Scholars Program, awarded the Freshman Scholar's scholarship (2k a year), and the lady who interviewed me for the Program said that if I take my ACT again and raise it from a 28 to a 29, I could be in the Honors program. So I'm taking the ACT again in April, but who knows if I'll get the 29 (which will also raise me to a 100% Bright Futures). With that all said, I haven't really explored the UF campus YET and it's great to know that I was accepted while more than half of the applicants weren't. I actually prepared myself to not get in and so I researched more about USF and liked it, but I can't shake UF off me either now.

Now, for USF, the major I'd be taking is Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. At UF, I think I'd take Public Relations because I don't see a MassCom major. I am not going to graduate school, but my goal is lots of internships before I graduate. I want to go into the entertainment or book industry (as a publicist, agent, or in the casting side of things possibly) and they all say that graduate school isn't necessary.

Which one would be be the best choice for me? Opinions, please!

Only you can determine which the best choice is for you. However, the UF College of Journalism and Communications is considered one of the nation’s best. If all other items are equal, UF is the better school.

You do have to take into account cost, as UF is likely not going to offer you the same amount of merit scholarship $$. If the difference is only $2K a year, UF is worth the extra $$ (if you can afford it).

Good Luck!
