UGA and FAFSA

It's April 30 and tomorrow is the deadline date for enrollment. Is it possible that the University of Georgia still has not notified someone of their financial aid status and how much - if any - that person will get?

Yes…

How would a kid know where to put their deposit? You can’t put down 2 of them.

Actually, you can put down two of them, though i’m not sure how ethical that is. Just inform the school you don’t end choosing that you don’t want to go anymore and they will say ok and keep your deposit.

I would call and ask at UGA.

Schools do not allow you to double deposit. You may be able to get away with it, but virtually all of them are clear that this is not allowed. Your best option is to deposit with your second choice and ask UGA for an extension. I would assume that UGA will provide you with an extension since you are waiting for financial aid information. If UGA comes through, then it is acceptable to deposit with UGA and notify the school you initially deposited with that you will not be attending. You will likely lose your deposit, but you would definitely lose it if you double deposit on them.

I know of several similiar situations. Definitely inquire about getting your deposit back. The few cases I know of got their money back. Just ask. You have nothing to lose.
