I was wondering what was the difference between UGA Honors dorms and just regular dorms (if there even is a difference) and can people who got into honors dorm with people who didn't? Also, as an incoming freshman, what do you guys suggest as the best dorm?

The Honors dorms are nicer than the regular dorms, but at the same time, more exspensive. Otherwise, I don’t know a lot about them.

And “the best dorm” really depends on the student.
A lot of people LOVE the highrises because of the fantastic social atmosphee. However, the rooms are smaller there.
The Hill Community is very popular as well, as the rooms are slightly larger, come with a sink, and it’s less noisey in there.

I agree with the poster above. The best dorm depends on the student. It just depends on what is important to you: social atmosphere, private bath, location etc. My daughter knew she didn’t want a community bath so the high rises were out…

I don’t think non-honor student can live in the honors dorm.

My suggestion is for you to rank what is important to you and then pick the dorm that matches that best.

Ok, then what about this: Can my friend who got into Honors and me, who did not apply for honors, dorm in the same Hall? We were thinking about Hill Hall.

I believe the answer is yes, you absolutely can room together, just not in the honors dorm (Myers Hall). Honors students can elect another dorm (and many do).
