If I am attending an instate SEC university and have a 3.7 GPA and in honors as a business major, what are my chances of getting accepted by UGA transfer? I was accepted early action into UGA out of high school but that plays no factor in transferring. I have heard that transferring is harder is that true? Will the “honors” show up on my transcript I send? (the honors classes will turn into credit for the standard class at UGA)
Do you intend to remain a business major ? I so, I think that you will have to apply to Terry (Georgia’s business school).
If you intend to stay in Supply Chain Management / Logistics, according to US News the leading MBA programs in that field are:
-
Michigan State University
-
MIT
-
Arizona State University (offers free tuition to all admitted fulltime MBA students)
-
University of Michigan
-
Ohio State
-
Penn State
-
Stanford
-
Univ. of Tennessee-Knoxville
-
Rutgers
-
CMU
-
Purdue
-
St. Louis University
I understand that you are still early in your undergraduate studies, but I referenced the top MBA programs in your major so that you can visit their respective websites to learn about employment opportunities & starting salaries.
To answer your questions: Whether or not honors appears in your transcript is up to your current university (UTK). Typically, honors designations do not appear until one has completed the honors college requirements & graduated from that university.
With respect to your transfer chances at UGA, you need to call their admissions office and inquire.
I am planning a transfer because my current school does not have my major.
