Well I found out I'm going to be in a small triple this upcoming semester and I'm a little worried about things like privacy or space, as in will I have any lol. Any input is appreciated :)

try to get a bottom bunk and hang up sheets to make yourself a cave :)

Is a triple really that bad?

I just concerned with lack of space/privacy mainly. Haha and the shirt thing could work, but if your roommates were there, it’s still not very private

I have a triple too, ugh. I mean, my roommates seem nice so far from the messages we’ve sent back to each other over FB, but like you I’m worried about space and privacy. Plus, usually two people are much more closer than the third one and they get left out. I don’t want to be the that loner …

Haha exactly what I am thinking ^

I dunno, but in theory, to me, a triple seems better than a double. What if you have a fight or didn’t get along with your roommate in a double? That would be aaawkward.

Is the privacy really that much less compared to a double? Why would it be?

The main thing that scares me is being left out and treated like a loser, though.

If the college has a relatively low percentage of triples, then probably there wll be opportunities to shift to a double later in the year as people drop out or go overseas, etc. However, if a college has lots of triples and a low drop out rate, then you may be stuck.

Some people in triples choose to stay in that triple when a double is offered in another dorm because they don’t want to leave their suitemates/hallmates.

Ewww triples. That sucks :/

It depends. I stayed in a triple during my orientation program, and it was really spacious. Two beds were bunked, two of the desks were underneath the other bed, and the other desk was out. There were also three wardrobes, and there was plenty of space. We fit the entire suite in there with plenty of elbow room. We probably could have fit a whole nother suite inside and still had room for food. I only stayed one night, but I know space wasn’t a problem for me. Privacy, maybe. Being on the top of the bunk bed, I was concerned about waking up the girl below me when I got up.

At USC, the only triples are gigantic rooms… where you could probably legally stick 6 people in them because there’s so much room.

I went into one a couple of days ago, and I was just like o.O. It’s like 360 sq. ft.

But, if you’re worried about space, just don’t spend like huge amounts of time in your dorm room.

Just found out I’m assigned a triple. I was upset at first, but now I’m excited.

My daughter was assigned a triple at UCLA. And the room is really built for 2 people, so they had to fight for closet space. It is cramped, but for financial reasons, you will save $$$.

A month later …

Triples at my school actually aren’t so bad. (Standard triple–not forced!)
They’re pretty spacious, but the downside of a triple is the lack of privacy, but I don’t mind. Plus, I live all the way on the fifth floor so it’s a lot of stairs, to and back, and my calves are always burning by the time I climb up. My roommates are fine. Triples aren’t so bad.
