<p>Well, I found out I'm being put into standard triple housing ... Not what I had in mind, but I talked to my roomies and they seem very nice :) We each get our own bed, desk/chair, closet, and dresser. The email said we may "bunk if neccessary" and that the rooms are larger than doubles (so no forced triples, phew!)</p>
<p>I always hear stories how triples end up horribly and I don't want that happening to me. I don't want to be singled out if the other two end up being closer buddies.</p>

<p>Most of the triples I’ve seen usually end up with 2 out of the 3 being friends and the other one being kind of left out, not horribly left out but noticeably.</p>
<p>We’re all really good friends, and we’re suiting together this year along with some other guys from our freshman floor. There were interests, academics, or activities that each of us pairwise shared that the other didn’t, and we also ended up doing a lot of things within a larger group of friends. It got a little crowded sometimes.</p>
<p>I was in a triple last year. One of my roommates became my best friend, the other not so much. Not that I didn’t like her, we just didn’t become close. She had her own set of friends though, so I didn’t really feel bad about it.</p>
<p>I lived on a floor full of quads and triples my freshman year. Pretty much every quad/triple has like 2 people that are close and then the other one or two people go off and do their own thing, or just aren’t as close. It’s standard human social behavior, I think.</p>
<p>Living with one roommate in a small dorm is bad enough. I can’t even begin to imagine the nightmare of sharing such a small space with two people. Just because it’s three roommates doesn’t necessarily mean the room is going to be a lot bigger.</p>

<p>i was in a quad my freshmen year. we started with only 3 people, because the fourth kid decided not to come. second semester we got a fourth person, and then my other two roommates moved out, so it was just me and the new kid. we weren’t really friends, but i didn’t have any problems with him.</p>
<p>If you’re a girl, having two others to share a bathroom with is a huge problem. The more people you have, the more varied the interests are. Room-mate #1 wants to study, #2 wants to rave, #3 wants to sleep, etc. It gets annoying. Cramping more people into a small living space doesn’t exactly add to a clean atmosphere.</p>
<p>Honestly, one or two room-mates aren’t too bad – we have four, five, and six-person rooms at my college. :/</p>

<p>No, I had my space, but the occasional midnight visitors (they came in bulk) crowded up the place. Privacy was virtually impossible, and the noise level was uncontrollable.</p>

<p>We each had our areas, but one guy went mad and created a bunker, literally. His bed was surrounded by two dressers and a desk at the foot, all in the corner. But other than that, it was quite spacious for us.</p>

<p>One guy ended up getting expelled, I’m still friends with the other three, one of whom I’m quite close with.</p>

<p>It wasn’t a terrible experience, but not one I’d like to live in again. The kitchen became a dumpster, music was constantly loud, and the late nighters tend to keep their lights quite bright. The adjusting of the AC was also quite annoying, as one found it cold while the other found it extremely warm.</p>
