My SAT IIs are ok, and ACTs are alright too (30, but hoping it'll go up to 32+). My SAT I's suck (took it once: 1890...cringe). I was under the impression I could just not send in my SATIIs just send in ACTs.......but I read somewhere that if I send in my SAT IIs I HAVE to send in my SAT I?! Is this true...because in that case 1) I don't think I'll get into Hopkins (my dream school, which says it needs all scores), 2) or any college for that matter.........?! Am I screwed?!

Next, an 1890 is not an “auto-reject” at Johns Hopkins (although it’s not helping you). Are you considering taking the test again? Obviously if you do better next time you’re not going to be harshly penalized for not doing as well the first time around.

Finally, your SAT score is in the 88th percentile. If you don’t think you’re getting into any college with that score, you’ve been severely misled.

Additionally, most schools explain that they will really only pay attention to the score that puts you in the best light. So if you think that your 30 is more flattering than your 1890, then they will consider your 30 your “primary” score.
