When I called the Honors College, they said that's it's like the preliminary GPPA interview. They use this interview to determine who interviews at the second round (at the medical school, I think).

what are you guys goin to wear??

nice suit and tie, would that be too formal?

When are your interviews?

hey u guys! my interview is next monday
i had to schedule it individually, as i couldnt make the 1/28
or the other date offered
im going in a formal business suit, i think its one of the few chances i actually get to wear it so im gonna enjoy that!
good luck to everyone!

does anybody know the kinds of questions that are gonna be asked?

Does anyone know what kind of impromptu essay we have to write?? Persuasive? Narrative??

good luck to everyone going for an interview tomorrow, let us know what happens

Yes, definitely, that'd be great. I too had to reschedule, but that's okay, I've already taken the campus tour, etc...

Hey guys! Got home from the GPPA interview this afternoon. It wasn't bad at all. I can't complain. My interviewer was a really nice guy. We pretty much just had a conversation. He was really interested in my major (Spanish, but I'm pre-med) so we talked about that for awhile. The essay was not what I expected at all. I hate politics and government and all that stuff, so that wasn't fun for me.

How'd everyone else do?

I think I did alright on the interview, one question threw me off, but I was alright for most of it

I thought I dominated the essay, so I hope it balances out

What group were you in and what was the tough question?

I havent gotten any news bout my interview yet...could some of the people who have gotten interviews post ur stats? O yea lol i keep posting im a junior for some reason! YEa, so if you guys could tell me if i still have a chance and lemme know about your stats that would be sweet.

Uhh my stats will probably make you feel better about yourself. Lol.

ACT- 31
GPA- 4.6
AP's- English Lang (4) Government (3) US Hist (4) Chem (3) Spanish Psych English Lit
EC's- NHS, Student Council, MAO, First Class, PE Leader, Spanish Club, Varsity Track and Field, Choir
Doctor-related stuff- Volunteer at hospital, NYLF
Non-doctor-related stuff- Youth Group, Part-time job at JC Penney, a bajillion volunteer hours
A bunch of awards within my school and community... I know I'm forgetting a lot. I think the only reason I got the interview was 'cause my essay kicked butt and my major is Spanish. Or maybe it's because I'm white. Who knows.

<quote? what="" group="" were="" you="" in="" and="" was="" the="" tough="" question?<="" quote=""></quote?>

I was in blue group and the tough question was 'name a weakness' etc

what group were you in?

Brown. How did they organize the groups? Just randomly or did they do it based on your major?

Looked like it was random to me because I was biochem and one of my friends was software engineer major and even another friend was in for GPPA pharmacy

when do we find out if we get a second interview?

no clue .

They told me in 2-3 weeks from the first interview we would find out about scholarships and our second interview.
