Christie- I only got a 31 on my ACT as well. UIC does NOT require writing, so no worries. Plus, they look at the whole picture, not just one score (lucky for us!) Also, try collegeboard.com and look up UIC. That should tell you how many credits you need.

WayCool- GPPA definitely looks at everything. That's one of their newest perks, they told me. Also, if you haven't already, try to get involved in a lot of EC's and volunteer work. They love to see that you're interested early on : )

Are they inviting people in any order? alphabetical, maybe? For those of you who have been invited for interviews, are your last names early in the alphabet?

The rumor I heard was that they are inviting you for the second interview after they receive the feed back from the first interview.Sometimes the professor who interviewed you takes his own sweet time to fill up the feedback form and submit it to the school of medicine or pharmacy, whatever the case may be. I am worried about ("sometimes") the form getting lost or misplaced.

ivyleague1 -- I wouldn't get too worried, they seem to be relatively well organized.

At any rate, I had my second interview this morning (!) and I heard that interview notifications will continue until about the middle of this month. In fact, a parent called in while I was waiting and an office rep. said that interview notifications are still occurring. The office of admissions called more candidates today while I was at the building, it seems as though the office calls 3-5 people a day to notify about interviews.

A1987 -- It's not alphabetical, so far as I've seen, because my name's near the end of the alphabet. The reason I say this is because, as I said above, notifications are still occurring. So unless the rest of the applicants' last names all start with Z...

It may be that ivyleague1 is right, it might depend on how fast the Honors College interviewer takes in submitting the interview report, because I was called for a 2nd interview less than 2 weeks after the first interview. I'm not sure if that's how it works or not.

To: biceps 09, justcurious and krisrox: I have an interview on Marh 07. What kind of questions do they ask for the interview? Do I have to get prepared for any technical questions. How many people interview you? How long is the interview process? Any input will be appreciated.

I have an interview tomorrow. I need some help. What should I wear? A suit, or just a shirt and a tie? What kind of quetions do they ask. Any questions on abortion, euthenesia? Any political issues discussed? Please help. If they talk politics, I will be lost.
Thanks

Whoa there. It's a lot more casual then you're anticipating. Just know why you want to go into medicine (if that's your major) and be prepared to talk about your qualifications. Nothing too formal. As for clothes, go with the shirt and tie, suit coat if you wanna. No worries.

if u still havent been contacted
call the med school
thats what i did and i scheduled my interview on the spot
they said theyre still calling ppl
so dont wry

krisrox: Thanks for the input. The interview was quite casual. How was your interview? The person who interviewed me did not ask me any ethical moral or political questions. Thats what I was worried about. I went in a suit. Hope things work out for me & you too. Good luck to you.

park5378: Looks like your name was on the list. My friend called and he could not schedule an interview. I heard they will be calling for interviews till March 14th or 15th.

Hey guys... did anyone else get a letter of acceptance into the Honors College that said your GPPA decision was pending? 'Cause I did, and I dunno what that means...

krisrox: How was your interview with the medical school. Did they mention anything in particular. I was informed at the end of the interview that I would hear about the outcome sometime during the last weekof March or the first week of April. I have still not received a letter of acceptance from the Honors College. Good luck.

When does UIC/GPPA mail out the acceptance/rejection letters? Do they come by e-mail, priority mail or snail mail? Being a state university, I believe priority mail is out of question. Any info?????

What I've heard is that it probably won't be until April. Supposedly, even when the actual GPPA department is aware of who they've admitted, they still have to inform the Honors College, which trakes some time, so that THEY can send out the actual notifications (which takes even longer). Long story short, it'll probably be a little while.

hey I have a question. Assuming, crossing my fingers, asking for a miracle, I get into GPPA for medicine. What would be a better way to go: a full ride to Northwestern or $7000 a year to UIC GPPA. Keep in mind I realllly want to become a doctor. Thanks.
