I am currently a Junior in a rural Illinois, and I would like to know if I have a decent shot at getting into UIUC for Accounting. My ACT composite is a 33 (R32 M34 S33 E34), and my weighted GPA is 4.18. If all goes well this second semester of HS, my weighted should turn out to be almost 4.3, and my unweighted will be 3.9 (currently 3.87ish). My ECs are Scholastic Bowl, Math Team, and I am the VP of French Club. Next year I will be the Prime Minister of French Club as well. I also have decent letters of recommendation set up. Is there a chance of getting scholarships with these credentials, too?
UIUC does not accept letters of recommendation. Solid stats! If you’re from a truly rural area, I think that helps, compared to a similar applicant from Chicago and the suburbs. You apply as business unassigned, but there is opportunity in your application to express accounting interest/intended commitment. Good luck, and if you haven’t yet, take all opportunities to visit UIUC, and Gies. I have no idea how your profile would shake out for scholarships for business-don’t expect much or anything.
