I still can't decide

which one I should choose

I heard bloomington and champaign are both rural and cold...

Luckily, I am admitted directly to Kelley...

But, still can't make up my mind between both...

any suggestions?

i was in the same position last year. what majors are you interested in? it’s ok if you’re not sure. and are you admitted to the college of business at uiuc?

Probably international business or management

not accounting though…

and

Yes I am admitted to College of Business at UIUC

I’m in the exact same position, but I’m leaning towards Illinois. Overall, Illinois is a better school than Indiana, but their business programs are pretty similar. IU has a nicer campus and its a bit warmer, but UIUC is closer to major cities and has better sports.

at illinois, international business is under the wing of management along with entrepreneurship and general management. most students who are not majoring in accounting or finance take one of these majors along with another major in the business administration department. double majoring within business administration is not difficult as the additional credit requirement is not high and there are lots of overlapping requirements between the majors. most students in BA do it.

you will probably find the quality of education in business administration to be similar at uiuc and kelley. the difference is in job prospects. u of i attracts lots of recruiters from the chicago area. kelley is known to have more far reaching connections for certain majors, im not really sure anymore which.

what tipped the scale for me in choosing uiuc was a) having friends coming to u of i with me b) having a much more awesome time when i visited c) being extremely impressed with the deans of the college of business as well as the business instructional facility where most business classes are d) getting asked to interview for business honors meant automatic james scholar status, which is a really nice thing to have. kelley only gave me scholarships and admission to the hutton honors college, which i didnt think would help me as much in the long run. e) like mpball said, illinois is a much better school overall, and you tend to be surrounded by smarter people most of the time, if that matters to you.

don’t think of weather as a factor. most of the year you will be cold, and it snows in both places. let me know if you have specific questions.
