Waitlisted for Gies. Surprised as most business schools have similar outcomes.

She has acceptances and merit money from Purdue, Colorado, Virginia Tech and Florida. Also honors acceptances from all of those four. When can we expect to hear about honors and merit? That will likely be the deciding factor.

I am sure with stats like that, he can get into other top-tier CS programs.

what’s your stats? Is Gies very hard to get in? thanks!

Accepted to Gies as an OOS. 1500 & 3.96 UW. Strong EC’s.

Well, we will see. Just wondering what the stats are for those who were admitted to CS.

Your son can be admitted to Harvard or MIT for sure!

Exactly. It’s difficult but not impossible. Your son has great stats.

SAT 1440, GPA 3.7UW and decent ECs. Maybe it is not enough.
Got into similar schools, so no worries.

Thanks! Are you OOS? It looks like they accept OOS with SAT score above 1500. Is Gies a good business school? Comparing to Purdue, Ohio State, is Gies better? Thanks!

Gies is #14 for business, so I would say its one of the top programs in the country.

It’s not yield protection–just very difficult in CS. Did they get into another UIUC program?

Yes. OOS. Their website shows SAT range of 1360-1480.
IU Kelley is comparable or better. Even Ohio State for that matter.
That sounds like sour grapes!

Not sure undergraduate b-school rankings are all that meaningful. All of these are good options.

That was my original comment. Considering the outcomes and schools are similar, i was surprised Gies is so much harder to get in.
