Is it me or are UIUC's dorms some of the smallest in the country? Sorry for the rant but just looking at other schools such as Michigan and Northwestern's dorm dimensions and then UIUC's upsets me.

It's not just you. All of UIUC's dorms were built decades ago, before people had personal appliances and stuff. The doubles are about 130 sq ft, which is tiny. It's no surprise that only 30% of undergrads live in the dorms, including the freshmen who are required to!

Yea, this is part of the reason I chose Illini Tower. The rooms are marginally larger, and there is the family room to relax in so you aren't just crammed in one tiny room. That, and most of the dorms do NOT have A/C, which IT, and a few other dorms, do.

Same here Im going to live in Bromley Hall. FAR has A/C but only it, Busey, and ISR (maybe LAR & Allen not sure) are the public dorms that have it. But remember trackstr that A/C isn't as important here as it is in FL. It will be important for the first month or so.

Yeah, you only need AC for the first and last months of the school year, pretty much.
