UIUC - EA applicants Class of 2025

Thank you. I was thinking you mean 10k specifically for engineering students - like some kind of a special fee. I am planning for room and board costs.

Not me, I just explain more in clear terms what @srparent15 already stated previously. :slightly_smiling_face:

Here is what Illinois Commitment covers. It only covers tuition. Illinois Commitment Frequently Asked Questions – Office of Student Financial Aid

Illinois Promise Illinois Promise – Office of Student Financial Aid is more promising in terms of aid with more stringent requirements. If one is eligible it is best program w/o worrying about any student loans.

Yes Illinois Promise is more stringent…requiring an EFC of 0, not only for the first year, but for each additional year. One of my students initially qualified, then did not once her dad got a new job. It is a kind of perverse incentive…incenting parents to not get a job/higher paying job.

It sounded so good on paper! I had essentially no income but my killer is always the assets.

Central I would assume

Also, just curious if here are liberal arts applicants on this post, everyone here seems to be cs or stem applicats…

Best of luck to my fellow CS applicants! It’ll be a bloodbath, but some will make it👍

What is OOS acceptance rate

Acceptance rate would be lower than previous years based on simple fact that colleges are reporting more applications this year while number of seats remain static. To put in simple perspective a 20% increase in applications would reduce acceptance rate by 17%, provided they offered same number of admissions. In other words, to have similar acceptance rate as previous years, college has to admit 17% more students, which is highly unlikely.

just scroll up a little smh

That number doesn’t represent acceptance rate, rather matriculate rate (26% of class size is OOS students)

not what i said
I was trying to emphasize UIUC’s quote about equal evaluation

Fair point, but you answered to a question of an 'OOS acceptance rate" and even suggesting that @Supergirl77 didn’t bother to read earlier when that earlier one is not addressing what @Supergirl77 even looking for.

valid, my bad
