UIUC Question

I got accepted to uiuc as a transfer. I'm an econ major. Do you think LAS majors are often overshadowed by the top ranked business/engineering programs and thus LAS majors often feel "inferior"? I am also deciding between uiuc and gw to attend but I am so torn. In the long run I think I want to goto law school, but if somehow I don't end up going right after graduation, I'd like some job options. Which school do you think would give me the best opportunities? Is it true the uiuc is so heavily known for its business/engineering programs that LAS majors are basically worthless? Thus making the idea of going to UIUC as an LAS major useless? And plus, uiuc is known mostly in the midwest ? I'm so confused. I hope you can provide me with some advice. Thanks!

what you are saying is in a way true. LAS majors are often criticized by business and engineering majors for having too much free time and flunk-out classes.

Isn't that true at any college? Even places without such outstanding engineerig schools, their reputation is of being harder working than the average arts and sciences kid. I don't think sometimes being overshadowed by engineering is unique to U of I.

Yea, I don't think that's anything you can escape unless you go to a liberal arts college or one of the Ivys (w/ the exception of Cornell and Penn).
