UIUC-liberal arts&science economic

I'm an international student and I received the offer from UIUC LAS economic.actually,I really wanna apply business. But the requirement for being accepted by its business college is too hard for international students like me...so..I would like to know my chance of transfering to business after one year study in LAS. thx a lot.

Business college is hardest one to transfer into. Your only chance to transfer will be after freshman year into sophomore year. If not accepted then, you will not be allowed any attempt thereafter. It usually takes 50% or less of those who attempt transfer after freshman year. To even have that 50% chance you will need a high freshman year GPA (median freshman year GPA of those allowed transfer into business is usually in the 3.6 or higher range), complete any necessary course requirements that first year business students usually take (that should be easy to do if you are in economics), and write excellent essays. Very high grades do not guarantee transfer as college has been known to reject some with 4.0’s.

that’s really competitive…but I will try my best if I finally decided to join UIUC…I’m still waiting for ad of USC\UWM\UWS\PSU… I would like to know everyone’s preference between UWM&UWS… can anybody show me ur point of view???

Both UWM and UWS are good, but honestly dude its almost impossible to transfer into business at UIUC. My little bro tried a lot and he couldnt even though he had great grades there. If you get into the business college somewhere else, go there since you have a set path…

I received the offer from UWS. I thought i apply for the economic major. but someone told me that i can check my college and major from unofficial UW transcript in the UW website.and that shows my collge is arts&science and major is PRE SOCIAL SCIENCE… PRE! what is PRE… i am really confused…
