Thanks! Yeah seems like a few decisions have already come out.
A friend of mine got her acceptance into the UIUC School of Social Work today. Still nothing here.
Hi all,
I am a freshman at a state university in Florida, and have 4.0 GPA. I will attend a CC in Illinois in my sophomore and transfer to UIUC as a junior, major in Computer Science (because UIUC does not accept CS sophomore transfer). Any tips when I apply?
Good luck to you all!!!
Assuming that you’d be applying for fall 2016, then you’d apply late fall of this year. The application opens up in September and closes in February or March. So, one would apply sometime in that period.
I feel like UIUC release a lot of decisions on Sunday. I submitted mine back in very Mid-Jan for college of Education but haven’t heard anything yet. So nervous
Thank you comfortablycurt, does it matter if I apply early in Sept or late in March? Do I need to have official transcript from both colleges or just the latest one (CC)?
Generally speaking, the earlier one submits an application, the better. However, as I’m finding out right now, it apparently makes no difference. I submitted mine in September and haven’t heard anything, and people that submitted their own applications like three weeks ago have already heard. So…take that for what it’s worth.
You’ll need high school transcripts and transcripts from every college that you’ve attended. If you submit your application during fall semester, don’t forget to send an updated transcript after your fall grades have been calculated into your transcript.
@comforablycurt is there any way you can call them and just ask for a status check because people have been notified already even though they applied later? Just to make sure everything is in order.
I actually did just that earlier today. They said that my application is complete and awaiting review, so I guess my department just hasn’t gotten around to reviewing applications yet.
Will my chances be lowered if I´m currently taking the pre-requisites courses for my major? This means that I am going to have all pre-requisites courses for when I finish this semester, but of course they don´t have the grade for them.
It doesn’t matter. That’s typically how transferring works. The only exception would be if someone was at a CC and got all of their major requirements done, and then stuck around longer to do GenEd courses.
I’m currently taking some of the prerequisite courses for my major too.
Hello! I applied before the Christmas. I got my decision on 12th February. My major is cs.

Did you get in? If so, what was your GPA, scores,…
Hey ya’ll I was accepted as of 3/16 (this past Monday). I completed my app around 2/16. Here are my stats:
College/Major: Liberal Arts and Sciences; psychology
College GPA: 3.55 @ 51 hours
School: Belmont University (Honors College), Houston Community College (current)
HS GPA U/W: 3.76/4.17
I applied as a junior since I’ll have 63 hours by the end of this semester. Good look to you all!
Very nice, congrats!
Still nothing here. They said by mid-April, which I take to mean April 17th or so. So it’ll be another month or so at the most.
Unless they take mid-April to mean the 24th lol
Alright, just hang in there, man. I know the waiting is the worst part. You have quite a presence on this forum so I’ve read a lot of your posts and I really want you to get in. Let us know if you do and good luck!
Sorry for hiatus! School got the best of me during midterms haha
Anyways, I was accepted earlier on today into the ACES Department under the NRES major.
Hang in there for those that are still waiting!
Congrats @Zoo218 mind sharing your stats? I applied to college of media as a journalism major. Still haven’t heard back, the wait sucks!
Sure! And don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll hear back soon!
College/Major: Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences/Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences
College GPA: 3.556 (University)
School: Southern Illinois University Carbondale (Honors College), MVCC (current)
HS GPA: 3.3
ACT: 24
Additional Info: Published Research (researched 2 years), Intern, Lab Researcher, Field Technician
I’m pretty sure the best part of my application was my research and intern experiences, tbh.
