Several people have said that they’ve gotten their decisions over the weekend. I think several people in this thread got their acceptance on a Saturday or Sunday.

My girlfriend just got in to UIUC econ!!! YEAHHHHHHH!!!
Well here we go. Tomorrow is the start of the last week of UIUC admissions decisions. I’m ready to finally hear back.
I’m assuming they’ll wait until Friday to post my decision. They apparently want to make this wait as long as possible…lol
I keep saying that I’m going to get an email from them saying that they accepted me 3 months ago but accidentally forgot to notify me.
Hi Everyone! I’ve been following this forum for a few months now but never posted anything. Today I (finally) got accepted into the College of Business as an Accountancy major. I am transferring from Rock Valley College, a community college in Illinois. I also did not get an email confirmation; I just logged in to myIllini and clicked on my application status, not really expecting anything. Instead of saying “complete” like it always has, there was a big orange screen that said “You’re an Illini now!” I’m glad I got in because everyone always talks about how hard it is to transfer into the business program, and this was the only college I applied to!
^ I am the exact same as MortalKombatX! I checked around 3:00 today and had the “You’re an Illini now!” I am so excited!! I got accepted into the Marketing program in the School of Business.
Seems like they’re releasing decisions based on the specific college, maybe? Wonder when they’ll do science and engineering.

This is the moment that I’m waiting for lol
Congrats on your acceptance! I’ve heard that the business program is pretty selective too.
Still nothing here today. There’s a 1/4 chance that it’ll be tomorrow. That’s 25%!
What major did you apply, @comfortablycurt ?
@PitLV2109 I applied for the specialized curriculum in physics. It’s a much smaller program than most, which is likely why it’s taking longer to hear back.
Just wanted to add my voice to those who have expressed wishes of good luck.
I have been reading your updates for months now and I am really hoping for good news for you this week!
Thanks, I really do appreciate it. This is just baffling me. I submitted it on September 9th. It’s been 6 and a half months now…lol
I get that applications are reviewed departmentally and all that, but I never imagined that it would take this long.
Meanwhile I’ve been accepted to UIC for about 3 months now. And I submitted that application like 2 months after UIUC…lol
It’s 5:30 now, and still nothing, so I’m assuming it won’t be coming today. But…there’s a 1/3 chance that it’ll happen tomorrow, so that’s a good thing.
Can anyone explain me the difference between UIUC’s electrical engineering and computer engineering. I mean many others schools have electrical and computer combined. Also most of the thinks you do in electrical engineering are highly correlated or same to that in computer engineering. So its like others colleges offer a kinda dual degree whereas
UIUC does this in separate degrees.
All schools have unique concentrations underneath those broad department headlines.
The headlines are just semantics. The difference between EE and CE at Illinois is the same as at other schools; at Illinois they simply go through the trouble of establishing unique departments instead of putting both programs under a broad EECS or ECE headline.
ETA: by same I don’t mean identical, but similar
Here’s the official stats of transfer students from last year, Fall 2014 http://www.pb.uillinois.edu/Documents/transferchars/2014/2014-Transfer-Characteristics.pdf
I am literally going to lose my mind…lol
curt - My DS was admitted as a soph. transfer S&CS in Feb. and I’ve been stalking this thread since then looking for your results. You have to get by sheer force of will alone!
Why didnt your DS apply to CS at CoE? Can you share your DS stats?
CoE CS not open to Soph. level transfers. Plus really likes the idea of Stats&CS, data mining and such. Not my call to discuss his stats but he made Dean’s List, has had a physics internship and is doing Artificial Intelligence research now, but not huge stuff. Might be as some had mentioned that experience seems to count. Thinking about it now, he had a freshman app in and deferred since his intended major had changed by then from Physics to CS, so they pulled that and had his ACT info, so I’m sure that came into play.
Apparently when UIUC says mid-April…they mean it. Still nothing today.
The bright side is that there’s a 100% chance that it’ll be tomorrow…lol
