um.....BATHROOMS????

This is for everyone at the TSAO schools:

How are the bathrooms? And where are they placed? I am a humongous clean freak and the prospect of boarding school has excited me.....then i thought about the bathrooms. Are they clean? I know it sounds a little weird, but if I want to spend the rest of my high school career at a place away from home, I'd like the place I shower and go to the bathroom to be at least decently clean you know?

BS bathrooms are notoriously disgusting, TSAO or not...

dang it....

fun is fun, i dont think thats true. my experience in choate so far has been great. im a bit of a clean freak myself and i have had no problems. twice a day, cleaners freshen up the bathrooms (which by the way are on each floor). everyone keeps their stuff in a personal shower caddy and ive only had a couple issues where someone has left their stuff in the shower. the flushers are powerful and their is room spray in each bathroom. the floor is never dirty and generally the bathrooms are always perfectly pleasant places to be. i cant speak for every boarding school but in crh i have had no troubles.

You know, I didn't think to ask my son and I'm certainly not going to check the boys dorm - the HALLWAY smells bad enough just the thought of walking anywhere NEAR the bathroom would make me gag. But I'll ask him and see what he says.
I would be interested to hear feedback from students...while fun MAY be telling the truth THIS time, he's joking half (or more) of the time so...???? (Of course, maybe it's just Salisbury that has disgusting bathrooms...LOL)

Some bathrooms are disgusting, whereas some are amazing. For example, on my floor, there are two bathrooms. One smells a bit strange, but the other one is great--it's clean and it doesn't stink. You have to figure out which bathroom in the dorm is clean and use that one. Hope that helps!

I had the same thought.

I hate public restrooms with a passion. That aspect of boarding school will be very vhallenging for me. I'll have to go in every so often with lysol and bleach. :)

If you are in a small dorm (like a house with 8 or fewer students), you may only have one bathroom, so choice may not be an option. But, I am stereotypically going to venture that while the girls may spend more time in the bathrooms, they keep theirs cleaner than the boys do...no flames, please :)

I'm a girl and I'll still be in there with cleaning supplies. :)

I'm just that odd.

That'd be hilarious.

I don't blame you, musicallylatin. I spray the bathroom with body spray practically every day.

I'm not even a clean freak, I just hate public bathrooms. :)

When I clean the bathroom at home the tub alone is first scrubbed down with Soft Scrub (I make sure we get the kind that has bleach.). I then bleach the tub, and if I feel like it needs it I make a baking soda paste, and then bleach again.

I wash the walls everytime I clean too. (That's just because I live with two people who smoke and I don't like that smell, plus one of the two isn't the cleanest person and the walls always have finger prints or makeup.)

I'm obsesive about the bathroom. What can I say? :D

TSAO? what's that?

TSAO = Ten Schools Admissions Organization ten schools learning college search at tenschools.com

Basically it is an outreach/marketing organization for ten schools.
Choate, Deerfield, Hill, Hotchkiss, Lawrenceville, Loomis, Andover, Exeter, SPS, Taft

wow, i guess the outlook i for the bathrooms is slightly on the negative side. ah well, i guess if i get accepted i'll have to get cleaning supplies :)

oh. well at exeter they aren't that bad. i mean, id suggest shower shoes, but they're not a contamination pit. they'er pretty clean.

I just went to an interview at Choate, and the bathrooms were really clean and actually nice-looking. I think it might have been because it was in the new dorm, but they were very impressive.

This conversation reminds me of a friend who swore that she would not be able to use a bathroom when there were other people there. Her plan was to just hold it until she came home for Fall Break. :)

lol :D
