hey! Im doing the honors program and housing and i was just wondering if you could describe what it's like, sort of. I mean is it any different from the typical dorm life at michigan? and are the rooms (double) nice?

oh, and by the way, it is impossibl;e to double major business and anything else. once you're in Ross, you can't get an LSA major. trust me, I talked w this about my advisor for like an hour. the only dual degree you can get is with Music and LSA or drama and LSA (I think)

yeah, but you can get a minor @ LSA if you're in ross, but it is very very difficult. You need to have already come in with some transfer credit in the area and u have to take a full load (like 18 credits) every semester

i'm on an rotc scholarship. just wondering...how visible is the rotc program at michigan? do students in rotc seem to be tied-up with the program or is the corps more relaxed in its requirements/commitmets?

Honors dorm life is pretty much the same as typical dorm life at michigan, and considering you will be meeting and mingling with lots of people who aren't in the honors program you should expect a pretty typical dorm experience. The doubles at South Quad are some of the largest dorm rooms you'll find on Central Campus, they're pretty nice, just make sure to keep stuff off the floors because they can get dirty really really fast.

Everyone(Especially Maize&Blue22),

I am also deciding between Michigan and Brown. How are their course difficulties when compared with each other?(Assuming that I am taking the same type of courses, especially the biology courses)
Would it be Brown b/c Michigan's got huge grade deflation?

How does the Sequential Grad/Undergrad Studies work? If I want to do two different kinds of engineering for the two degrees, when do I start taking graduate level classes? And how does tuition work because with SGUS you're doing bachelor/masters at the same time?

Because it's "sequential" rather than simultaneous (and I'm aware they once did call it simultaneous grad/undergrad study), I think it's more like a place-holder for grad school. You finish your bachelors and then you get your masters. Once you are working on your masters, that is handled through Rackham (and yes, the tuition rate is more expensive than upper-level undergrad).
