Still Waiting
Still waiting, too!
@SonnyDNJ if you are not accepted into Isenberg they generally place you in the school of social sciences because that is where the majors for economics and resource economics are. Both of those majors require some classes from the business school so students can apply to transfer to isenberg with many of the business class requirements started through the Econ major. That being said transferring into Isenberg is competitive and requires a very high GPA so not an easy transfer
Did anyone get an answer tonight
Umass amherst gives many Merit scholarships up to full tuition $14K and they stack up.
if Umass just uses GPA which varies from school to school. if a school does not offer honors or APs, then the maximum a genius can get is 4.0 / 4.0 vs. 6.0 / 4.0 that’s a small difference of %50
However standardized tests are fair … just like AP scores. that’s why colleges will give you college credit for an AP test score of 4 or 5, rather than an A is in AP class that was handed out by a teacher.
get a D in an AP class and score a 5 in the test and the college will give you credit
get a A in an AP class and score a 3 in the test and the college will NOT give you credit
@SonnyDNJ Please research the ability to transfer, and don’t fall for the low hanging fruit trick … ask your self, why you got so much money, for a major that you did not want, while others with much higher numbers got nothing.
best of luck … read this whole thread and then decide
I’m still waiting! Is anyone else? All of my friends heard weeks ago. I applied to nursing, so I’m wondering if that has anything to do with it??
Hi-I also applied to nursing program on 11.1 and have not heard anything yet.
Still waiting on Business School…In state
@SnowBunnyMom
…also waiting on Business in state here in Worc. County
when is the final day that they are releasing decisions for early action applicants?
They said “through the first part of January”
@Hope4414 You like UMass or UConn more? I’m also applying to UConn and I consider them pretty equal.
Do you guys know if we are accepted and log into our IT account, they automatically believe we accepted the school? Because I don’t know if I’m accepted to Isenberg and I think this info would be there, how do I know which I was accepted to?
Maybe we will hear back tonight
If you were accepted to Isenberg it’s in your online acceptance. You scroll down to see it.
@SnowBunnyMom @bizymom My D (Isenberg) and S (Education) (twins) applied EA. Their HS has had had two waves so far (in state Bristol County). The first had several Isenberg acceptances and appears to have been for the top 20% of the class. My S received his acceptance in the second round but NOT to Isenberg. He got his second choice, Economics (which my other S just received dual degrees, Economics and Sports Management (got into Isenberg his Senior year which as you can read is very difficult but not impossible). My D has yet to hear. I called the school to ask why one twin heard and the other hasn’t and was told it is random. Told them that this was unfair as you can imagine the angst in our house.
Thanks for the info. Isenberg is a bit of a long shot. Top third, 1310 and 3.72.The wait is rough! Think they’ll release most of the remaining decisions late today just before the weekend to avoid phone calls…Good luck to your daughter!
I have not read the entire thread so my apologies if this question has already been asked and answered. When does UMASS typically send out the email regarding your updated portal and decision (AM/PM?) or is it random?. OOS in PA and applied to Engineering School EA.
@SnowBunnyMom I am in state as well and received my acceptance to Isenberg in the second release of decisions but I also had a 1310 sat score and a 3.3 unweighted gpa (99.5 weighted gpa) so I think you’re daughter is going to be fine! I wouldn’t worry it isn’t a long shot.
