@Larensea whoop! Finally someone who’s interested in the same field :). UMass is supposedly my safety school but I still really like the campus and linguistics department and would be willing to go.
3.85 gpa at high school (don’t know recalculated gpa)…1230/1600…600 math. 630 CR. Would appreciate to know what you guys think of my chances. Thanks!
Well in general I think you’re good jcal, the only factors are the levels of your classes like if they’re honors or regulag or AP and what major you’re going for. But if you’re going undecided or something generic like biology, I think you’re good! 
In past years I have heard they have sent an email along the lines of “We are now sending out admissions…”, as early as Dec 12th of last year. Do you guys think they are behind schedule or that they do not send out this email anymore?
Hi guys! Umass is my first choice school so I’m super anxious waiting for this decision. I wish they’d give a more specific timeframe for when they’ll send out decisions.
I applied right at the deadline for early action. I’m in NY haven’t heard yet. I have 32 ACT, 3.6 UW GPA not sure what my weighted is but lots of AP/Honors, ECs. I applied engineering @Jcal15, I don’t think you have to worry. UMASS is not as difficult to get into as some others Mass schools. Your stats look good for UMASS. I think they are all just hitting the mail now and we will start hearing from MASS applicants first very soon.
I applied early October and still haven’t heard anything… Hopefully it will come out soon! If anyone hears back please let us know! Pretty anxious about it
Applied EA with a 3.46 weighted gpa with first quarter grades of 87 ap bio, 82 ap calc and 95 english with a 590 math sat and a 520 reading and applied as a premed or bio major and I can honestly say I am prepared for a rejection or deferral from u of amherst bc of how difficult it has gotten. Someone please convince me that i can still get in 
Does anyone have any idea of when we’ll hear back? Leaning toward late December now and I really hope they don’t actually mail letters as late as January…
Does the admissions office there have any sort of Twitter account or anything that we can find updates on? This is getting so ambiguous and frustrating
Yeah I actually think that they’ll come out next week on the 24th from what I heard from my friends. But I just wish that Umass would just send everything out at once. I know a few people who already got into Lowell so 
Last year, my son didn’t get his EA acceptance until mid-January (Engineering / CHC). Others were weeks later. Read last year’s thread for more anecdotal evidence. Its frustrating, but good things come to those who wait…
Correction: Our experience with this was two years ago, not last year. Sorry.
