Thank you
My daughter got WL from OOS, but since she already got into a school she loves, I encouraged her (and she agreed) to get off the WL and help someone waiting on their dream school today. And she did. Good luck to all of you!
My son did the same. UMass Amherst is out of state for us, and although offered in-state equivalent, he was not accepted to his major and that is too unknown compared to other schools that accepted to CS. He officially declined last night. If enough do that, maybe they will increase the last round of acceptances! Best wishes to all still waiting!
Thank you very much for the info! Best of luck to you and your son.
Thank you for the I do. I wish you and your daughter the best!
you and @csbound are so considerate!! it’s very uplifting and encouraging knowing that there are students and parents looking out for other applicants. best of luck to your kids!
Just got rejected from umass? US applicant living in Ireland, graduated with the equivalent of a 37 IB diploma, great EC’s and a killer personal statement. Got into penn state UP which has a lower acceptance rate so it very confused?
My son also was accepted to Penn State UP and rejected from UMass.
Umass wasn’t one of my top choices but this has made me worried about my other schools now
My son got rejected. 3.8 unweighted, 4.75 weighted. Captain of the robotics team. Accepted at Colorado School of Mines. Waitlisted at UW and NYU. Very weird.
I also got rejected.
just got rejected it was a predicted safety for me which is strange but i wish you all the best
Sorry about that. Where are you going? My son wants to go to Mines.
top choice. rejected. was extremely surprised because I received really great scholarships from all of my other schools and I didn’t apply to a competitive program. I don’t know how to feel right now honestly.
I got into NYU and Fordham, I’ll be fine. I think I’m among Amherst’s >75th percentile of applicants. Still got rejected.
i’ll try to transfer after a semester but i’m pretty upset because I had my heart set on umass and I honestly didn’t think I would be rejected. guess it was more competitive than I thought.
I feel for you. My son was so hopeful but it’s been a sea of rejections. We’re from Vegas. Wondering if that has anything to do with it,
I got rejected to three safety/target schools in a row. I don’t understand how this is happening.
Good job. I’m sure you’ll do well wherever you go!
Do they sometimes reject “over-qualified applicants” to protect yield or something like that? Or am I just overestimating my application? It was a safety for me also
